Stevie Wonder has been profoundly grieved by the tragic loss of American actor and singer Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The beloved star of "The Cosby Show" passed away unexpectedly on July 20th at the young age of 54, while vacationing in Costa Rica. In a poignant new interview, the legendary singer of "All I Do" reflected fondly on the time he shared with Warner when the latter guest-starred in an episode titled "A Touch of Wonder," which aired in 1986.
In this heartwarming segment, Denise (played by Lisa Bonet) finds herself involved in a car accident with Wonder, who portrayed himself with his characteristic charm. Warner and the rest of the talented cast joined forces with Wonder for a mesmerizing performance of "I Just Called to Say I Love You" during the broadcast.
The 75-year-old musical icon confided in TMZ, "My heart is shattered. Not only was Malcolm-Jamal a remarkably talented individual who grew up and shone brightly on 'The Cosby Show,' but more crucially, he was deeply committed to telling stories rooted in truth." He continued, "In these troubled times, when those in power peddle deceit, the truth is more essential than ever. So, yes, I deeply miss him," the "Superstition" crooner added, paying tribute to the late Grammy Award winner.
Regarding the cause of Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s untimely demise, it was revealed that he drowned while enjoying a family vacation. According to ABC News, Costa Rica's National Police confirmed that asphyxia—a condition where the body is deprived of oxygen, leading to unconsciousness or death, akin to suffocation—was the cause of his passing.
