Finn Wolfhard is shaking up his image in a dramatic fashion. The beloved star of "Stranger Things" bid farewell to his signature shaggy, raven-black locks, unveiling a sleek buzzcut at the prestigious 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, Japan, on May 25th. For this red-carpet occasion, the 22-year-old opted for a clean-shaven look, pairing his sharp new 'do with a sophisticated black-and-white suit jacket and coordinating trousers. Joining him on the glittering red carpet was his co-star Gaten Matarazzo, as the duo prepared to present the award for Best Continuing Series—ultimately bestowed upon "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc" during the glittering ceremony.

Finn's hairstyle transformation marks just one of several significant changes in his life as of late. Last December, the actor nostalgically reflected on wrapping up the final season of the Emmy-winning sci-fi phenomenon, which is poised for its Netflix debut later this year. "We just wrapped 'Stranger Things' Season 5," he penned on Instagram at the time. "I’m still in shock. We shot it for a year, and I’ll deeply miss all of my friends and our beloved characters."

Since the show's 2016 premiere, Finn has forged an unbreakable bond with his fellow cast members, including Gaten, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. However, he recently confessed to Cosmopolitan that he harbored anxiety about how the series' conclusion might impact their relationships. "These guys are truly like family in countless ways," he shared earlier this month. "I had this lingering fear that once we wrapped, it would feel strange to see them again."

Fortunately for Finn, his trepidation proved unfounded as his connections with his castmates remained steadfast. "I embarked on a trip with Caleb, Gaten, and Noah just a month or two after wrapping, and it was a game-changer for the transition," he continued. "Ever felt like when you return home, you slip back into the role you once played as a child? It's like accessing an archived version of yourself. Within that circle, I'll forever be a kid. Their 12-year-old buddy, through and through."
