Gavin Casalegno is eager to showcase his remarkable acting skills on Cousins Beach, where he stars as Jeremiah in the upcoming film adaptation of the beloved series. In a hilarious revelation to Us Weekly during an interview published on March 2, Gavin revealed, "I requested a death scene for my character." However, he added with a chuckle, "I'm not sure if we'll get to it." Despite this request, the actor expressed his support for any narrative that brings joy to the fans and the show's creator, Jenny Han, who penned the trilogy of books that inspired the series.

At just 26 years old, Gavin admits that he has "no information" about the film, which will primarily focus on the relationship between Belly Conklin (played by Lola Tung) and Jeremiah's older brother, Conrad (played by Christopher Briney). He even joked, "I'm like Tom Holland," referring to the Spider-Man actor who accidentally spoiled Marvel movie plotlines in the past. "If I know anything, I'll give it away," he said with a grin. "They won't tell me anything."
When asked about the movie's future, Jenny Han previously hinted at another significant milestone for Belly during her appearance on Today on September 18. She revealed that the series will continue its journey, but fans may have to wait a bit longer than expected to see the final chapter of this romantic drama unfold. In fact, Jenny admitted that she had only recently completed the script. During a December 2025 appearance at The Wrap's 2025 Power Women Summit, she said, "I just wrote it. We haven't filmed anything yet."
So, while fans eagerly await more details about the film, they can rest assured that the creative team behind the project is hard at work bringing this beloved story to life.
