Taylor Lautner recently opened up about his audition for Camp Rock, prior to his breakout role in the hit Twilight franchise. During his and wife Taylor Dome's podcast, The Squeeze, the American actor was joined by a member of the Jonas Brothers, and the conversation soon turned to exciting news about the upcoming Camp Rock 3.

This prompted Taylor to share a hilarious anecdote about his unsuccessful audition for the original Camp Rock. "I didn't just audition for the Shane Gray character; I went through probably five callbacks and made it to the final three," he recalled, adding that he even did "chemistry reads with everyone, including Demi Lovato."

However, he remembered getting a call from his agent that went something like this: "Hey Taylor, we have some bad news for you." When he asked what it was, his agent replied, "They're going with the Jonas Brothers." "What? They weren't even there. They're three people," quipped the Grown Ups 2 star.

Earlier in an interview with Marie Claire, Taylor had mentioned that his lack of singing and dancing abilities were the reasons he didn't get the role in Camp Rock. Interestingly, the role of Shane Gray ultimately went to Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, who auditioned after director Matthew Diamond went to see him live in concert at Disney's request.

Although Taylor didn't land the role in one of the best Disney Channel original movies of all time, all was not lost for the actor. In 2008, he was cast as Jacob Black in the YA vampire fantasy adaptation Twilight, which later became a five-movie mega-franchise.

Meanwhile, during his interview with Taylor, Kevin discussed mental therapy, touring, and family life, adding a personal touch to their conversation.
