Taylor Swift knew that her most significant tour yet demanded nothing less than absolute preparedness. The Grammy-winning artist, who embarked on her Eras Tour in March 2023 and traversed the globe until December 2024, shared a candid confession about her six-month-long intense workout routine, initiated even before the tour's rehearsals commenced. "I've never sweated this much in my life—it's grueling," Taylor joked in the third episode of the End of an Era docuseries on Disney+, released on December 19. "I had to elevate my physical training to a new level. Six months ahead of my first rehearsal, I ran on the treadmill daily, matching my pace to the songs I was singing aloud. It's a struggle when you're traversing the entire length of an NFL stadium."

The endurance required onstage is truly formidable, as she admitted, "I think I run eight miles in this show." Although the Eras Tour marked her sixth major tour, it was her most audacious yet, with each show significantly longer than her previous concerts. "There are numerous things we accomplished on this tour that I've never even attempted before," she said. "The longest show I ever did was two hours and fifteen minutes."
The docuseries offered a peek into one of her workout sessions with trainer Kirk Myers, who assisted Taylor in a variety of strength training exercises. Among them was a particular training routine that the singer described as one of her least favorite: pull-ups with her feet tucked into a resistance band. "In no way do I ever apply this in any part of the show. I just want to flag that every time I have to do pull-ups," she pointed out, adding a "two thumbs down" to the exercise.
Myers also worked with Taylor on her core strength by tossing a weighted ball back and forth while she performed sit-ups, as well as drills involving swinging a hammer to tone her arm muscles. Ultimately, Taylor emphasized that when it comes to executing such a long show, "Saying it is one thing; doing it is another." As she put it, "You don't want them to see you panting."
