"All I can share at this moment is that the surgery went smoothly," he wrote. "However, I've never seen @teddimellencamp in so much discomfort. She's finally resting, much to her need. She is deeply appreciative of the overwhelming love and support she's received."

Prior to Thursday's update, Arroyave had shared a photo of their 10-year-old son, Cruz, holding a cardboard heart adorned with the words "Feel better," written in pink marker. The heart, brimming with sweetness, also bore the names of Cruz's classmates who contributed to the gesture, according to Arroyave.

"Cruz's class made this for @teddimellencamp," he captioned the post.

Mellencamp, an alum of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," filed for divorce from Arroyave in November 2024 after thirteen years of marriage. Besides Cruz, Mellencamp and Arroyave are also parents to a 12-year-old daughter named Slate and a 4-year-old daughter, Dove.

Mellencamp announced her impending surgery on Wednesday, February 12th, through a heartfelt Instagram post. She revealed that she had been battling "severe and debilitating headaches" for several weeks.

"Yesterday, the pain was unbearable, prompting my hospitalization. A CT scan and MRI revealed multiple tumors in my brain, which doctors believe have been growing for at least six months," she explained in the caption. "Today, two of the tumors will be surgically removed. The remaining smaller tumors will be addressed through radiation therapy at a later date."

Earlier that morning, Arroyave had shared an Instagram post showing him at the hospital, with Mellencamp placing her arm around him from her hospital bed. Prior to the surgery, Mellencamp had shared a video of her friends, including Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade, gathered in her hospital room.

Since entering surgery, Mellencamp has not posted on social media.
