‘The dreamiest boss of all time’: Olivia Rodrigo paid for crew’s therapy while on tour

It appears that the therapists Olivia Rodrigo secured for her band have truly made a profound impact. As revealed by rhythm guitarist Daisy Spencer on "The StageLeft Podcast," the 22-year-old "Vampire" singer, alongside her tour manager Marty Hom, generously offered free and easily accessible therapy sessions to the entire entourage of the "Guts" tour. Speaking to host Chris Simpson, the 31-year-old Spencer exclaimed, "I've never experienced anything quite like this before. It rekindled my appreciation for therapy, as I had neglected it for quite some time."

Rodrigo and Spencer recently concluded their extensive 102-date "Guts" world tour on July 1, capping off their triumphs with a headline performance at Glastonbury, where they were joined by the Cure's Robert Smith on stage. During the podcast, Spencer gushed about Rodrigo being "the most dreamy boss ever" and shared her journey of nurturing her mental and physical well-being while on tour.

"Suddenly, I had access to these incredible therapists at no cost, and I made the most of it," she enthused. "I attended sessions weekly, bi-weekly, whenever I could squeeze it in. Even during our downtime, this invaluable resource was still available to us."

Rodrigo's father, Chris Rodrigo, is a family therapist, and the singer has been vocal about her therapy journey, which began when she was just 16. "That was a monumental, life-altering moment," she reminisced to CBS Sunday Morning in 2021. "I've gained immense self-insight."

And Rodrigo isn't the only musician championing therapy. Lewis Capaldi, who took a two-year hiatus from performing to prioritize his overall health, recently announced a partnership with BetterHelp, aiming to provide 734,000 hours of free online therapy. Similarly, Ariana Grande has collaborated with the virtual therapy platform multiple times in the past.

Although the "Guts" tour has come to a close, Rodrigo's summer is far from over, with several festival appearances lined up, including a headline set at Lollapalooza on August 1.
