NBC has officially unveiled the upcoming 29th season of "The Voice," alongside the trio of coaches who will occupy the iconic red chairs: Adam Levine, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson. The spring 2026 edition of this musical showdown promises a slightly tweaked format, revolutionized under the thrilling banner of "Battle of Champions." According to the network, Levine, Legend, and Clarkson comprise the sole judging panel in "The Voice's" storied history to be entirely comprised of former victorious coaches.

Slated for a February 2026 premiere, Season 29 is shaping up to be a landmark event. Clarkson will juggle her duties on "The Voice," which is headquartered in Los Angeles, with her New York-based daytime talk show (also a proud member of the NBCUniversal family), thanks to seamless coordination between the two programs' production teams.

Levine made a triumphant return to "The Voice" for its 27th season in the spring, six long years after his initial tenure with the show came to a close. Meanwhile, Clarkson and Legend will embark on their 10th and 11th stints in the coveted red chairs, respectively.

Among the myriad format innovations for Season 29 is the "Triple Turn Challenge" during the blind auditions, which grants one coach a shield against potential poaching of their contestants by rivals in the subsequent battle rounds. The knockout rounds will also introduce an exhilarating "In-Season All-Star Competition," featuring alumni from past seasons. Furthermore, the semifinals and finale will witness a novel voting bloc comprising superfans and former "Voice" artists, who will relish the opportunity to immerse themselves in the excitement firsthand, casting their votes for their favorites in real-time as part of the studio audience.
