Certainly, this was not the scenario Matt Bomer had envisioned. The White Collar star recently recounted a notable encounter with a fan that nearly took a dangerous turn when the awestruck spectator spotted him while driving. "I had someone almost hit me with a car," Matt candidly shared with Entertainment Weekly in a joint interview with Outcome costars Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz, published on April 8. "They were genuinely thrilled. It wasn't the best way to start a conversation, but they didn't mean any harm. They just weren't thinking in that moment."
The fan didn't intentionally drive into him, emphasized the 48-year-old, explaining that they were simply distracted. "They were turning left and saw me as they were turning, I guess," he recalled. "They wanted to say hi, and then pulled over, and it was awkward."

As for how his costars reacted to this eye-opening fan interaction? Keanu jokingly reprimanded his costar, saying "My God, Matt Bomer, you were causing traffic accidents!" However, Cameron could empathize with the fan, quipping, "I'd crash my car if I saw you on the street."
While the moment could have ended badly, ultimately Matt was flattered—to a point—by the fan's appreciation of his work. He added, "I'm always grateful that people have responded to whatever you've done, but that was definitely one of the times it got a little out of hand."
Of course, Matt, Cameron, and Keanu have spent ample time reminiscing about their time in Hollywood as Outcome, which debuts on April 10 and centers around an actor who is forced to make amends with people he has wronged as part of an extortion plot. And though Keanu's character Reef Hawk embarks on quite the odyssey to get to the bottom of this plot, for Matt, who plays Reef's BFF Xander, the film does offer a few solid lessons for aspiring actors about navigating fame.
"I would say if you're lucky like Reef, surround yourself with friends and keep your friends who maybe knew you before as well if you can," he recently explained to E! News. "They can really ground you and be there by your side through the good and the bad and the ups and downs of it all."
