For the second, the comedian was taken into custody on Friday, this time for nodding off at the wheel. Speaking candidly with Entertainment Tonight following her second arrest, Haddish expressed her resolve to make necessary changes. "I'm committed to seeking help so that I can learn to strike a balance and set boundaries," she revealed.
She recounted her busy Thanksgiving day, which began with serving meals to those less fortunate at The Laugh Factory. This was followed by a festive stand-up performance at the comedy club's annual feast, marking its 43rd year. Later, she made her way to the El Rey Theatre to catch Yächtley Crëw's performance.
Haddish also shared an astonishing detail about her Tesla, which had automatically parked itself when she dozed off on the road, albeit blocking a portion of the street. Despite her arrest, the actress from Haunted Mansion remained in high spirits and praised the Beverly Hills Police Department for their professionalism.
According to a representative, the officers responded to a welfare check call early Friday morning, at around 5:45 am, regarding a vehicle stopped in the middle of several lanes of traffic. Upon arrival, they found Haddish asleep in the driver's seat and promptly arrested her. She was later released on the same day.
In a similar incident in January 2022, the actress was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia. Local police received a call around 2:30 am, reporting that a driver had fallen asleep at the wheel on a busy highway.
After her first DUI arrest, Haddish joked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she had been praying to God to send her a new man, a good one. Little did she know that God would answer her prayers in such an unexpected way - by sending her four men, all in uniform.
