In a rapid-fire interview with Lucid Motors, Timothée Chalamet ignited a conversation when asked to name the greatest actors of all time. Instead of playing coy, Chalamet delivered a ranking, singling out three of his personal favorites with unapologetic enthusiasm.

When pressed on his top picks, Chalamet exclaimed, "Denzel [Washington] is the GOAT, Christian Bale is the second GOAT, and Joaquin [Phoenix] is the strange GOAT." His list revealed the actors he admires most and looks up to. Denzel Washington, Christian Bale, and Joaquin Phoenix are all renowned for taking on demanding and diverse roles, a fact that Chalamet may have witnessed firsthand after sharing the screen with Bale in the 2017 Western film Hostiles.
Meanwhile, Washington and Phoenix have impressed fans over the years with their long and genre-switching résumés. Chalamet also shared a delightful anecdote about his friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio, revealing that just before the interview, DiCaprio had texted him, expressing his shock at Chalamet's new shaved-head look. "I heard you shaved your head. Say it ain't so," DiCaprio had written. Their bond seems to have been strengthened after working together on Don't Look Up, and it appears to include honest advice and genuine support.
Last year, Chalamet shared in a New York Times interview that DiCaprio had once given him advice to stay away from hard drugs and superhero movies. However, the Marty Supreme actor admitted he's not entirely anti-Cape-Cowl, and The Dark Knight inspired him to take up acting. "‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good. I follow both! But the movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, The Dark Knight. If the script is great, if the director is great, I’d have to consider it.”
