Since 2016, Holland has embodied the iconic role of Peter Parker in five films, with at least one, if not two more, ventures as the beloved superhero lined up by the close of 2026. Despite facing fierce competition during auditions, the 28-year-old actor never wavered in his conviction to secure the part.
In a recent interview, Jon Bernthal, a fellow Marvel actor renowned for his portrayal of the Punisher, recounted a memory from years past when he practiced lines with Holland for a Spider-Man role. When quizzed by IMDB if Bernthal had instantaneously sensed Holland's perfect fit for Spider-Man, the 48-year-old actor responded enthusiastically, "He knew, he absolutely knew. He's the best; there's no denying it."
Bernthal elaborated that Holland had confidently predicted his success even before the audition. "He had this unyielding determination; he was just a young kid, yet he declared, 'I'm going to nail this,'" Bernthal continued. Playfully, the Punisher star recounted responding, "I'm not so sure, buddy; plenty of others are probably gunning for it too."
Bernthal heaped praise upon Holland, recalling how the latter had also assisted him in rehearsing lines for the Punisher while they were both filming Pilgrimage.
Holland's reign as Spider-Man has featured memorable turns in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. He is set to reprise his role in the upcoming 2026 film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and rumors persist that he might also join the cast of Avengers: Doomsday.
