Travis Kelce is brushing aside the latest whispers swirling around him. Following rumors that he had shed an impressive 25 pounds during his off-season training regimen, the star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs clarified the truth behind his fitness journey. "First things first, I never uttered those words," said Travis, who is romantically involved with Taylor Swift, during a June 18 press conference shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). "Don't take everything you read online at face value."

That's not to say the NFL star hasn't experienced any weight transformation since the Chiefs' heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl back in February. As he explained, "I've indeed lost some weight since the end of last season."

"Each year presents a fresh canvas," Travis continued, "and you have to rebuild from scratch." The 35-year-old athlete elaborated that he's dedicating more time than ever to training as he gears up for the upcoming football season. "This year, I've had the luxury of focusing on my running form and other aspects early in the off-season that I simply couldn't squeeze in last year," Travis noted. "I'm feeling top-notch, and fingers crossed, it'll all pay dividends."

Moreover, enhancing his physical fitness isn't the sole transformation he envisions for this season. Travis emphasized his aspiration to be "the best leader I possibly can" while collaborating with teammates such as Patrick Mahomes, Isiah Pacheco, Xavier Worthy, and Kareem Hunt. "Last year, I feel I fell short—especially in that final game—as a leader and someone who could rise to the occasion and make plays," Travis confessed. "So, I'm setting the bar even higher for myself this year than ever before."

Regardless of how the upcoming season, which kicks off in September, unfolds, Travis knows he has one unwavering supporter both on and off the field: his girlfriend. Speaking about their relationship during a January 15 appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show, Travis said, "Having that confidence, comfort, and unwavering support both off the field and in the stadium is invaluable. That's the magic of being in a strong relationship—you have that pillar of support to focus solely on your craft."
