Taylor Swift delights in keeping her fans on tenterhooks, yet Travis Kelce is lifting the veil on one of the enigmatic references nestled within "The Tortured Poets Society." During a spirited episode of the "New Heights" podcast with his sibling Jason Kelce on Wednesday, April 16th, the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end unveiled how he sneaked a peek at the R-rated movie, defying his parents' wishes. "The film that sticks out in my memory, which I didn't even realize was rated R, was 'American Pie,' and we were just kids, like, 10 years old at the time," Kelce recounted with a chuckle.

Although he didn't explicitly name Swift, Swifties—her avid fans—swiftly caught the subtle homage to her tune "So High School," where she croons about the iconic movie. "I'm watching 'American Pie' with you on a Saturday night," belts the Eras Tour sensation, with many speculating that the athlete serves as the muse behind these lyrics.

"I forget how I got in," Kelce mused further, adding with a wink, "I might have tagged along with someone else's parents," acknowledging that his own folks, Donna and Ed Kelce, would have vehemently disapproved.

This isn't the first instance where the star athlete has paid tribute to "So High School." In a May 2024 interview with People Magazine, Kelce confessed that the track is his favorite from Swift's latest album, freely admitting, "I might be a little biased."
