Ed Kelce, the father of NFL star Travis Kelce, finds himself utterly captivated by his son's girlfriend, none other than Taylor Swift. In a revealing glimpse into their bond, Ed shared insights about his relationship with the singer, whom Travis has been dating since 2023. Speaking to the Daily Mail in an interview published on July 21, Ed extolled Taylor's virtues, labeling her as "a very special person—one of the most generous and compassionate souls I've had the pleasure to encounter."
It comes as no surprise to Ed that Taylor has garnered countless accolades throughout her career. However, he admits that adjusting to the overwhelming attention that accompanies her immense success has been somewhat surreal. "It's beyond the realm of reality," he remarked. "There's absolutely no denying that." He further added, "When you pause to ponder it, it truly is mind-blowing."
Ed's admiration for Taylor extends beyond her personality, embracing her prowess as a singer-songwriter as well. Travis has previously shared that his father has embarked on a personal journey of exploring her extensive music catalog. During an episode of his 'New Heights' podcast in October 2024, Travis revealed, "He's started listening to her music more frequently. Poor guy, he even said, 'I've taken all your CDs from the local library and ripped them onto my computer.' As a law-abiding taxpayer, I guess that's legal."
Ed isn't the only member of the Kelce family who wholeheartedly supports Travis and Taylor's relationship. Travis's brother, Jason Kelce, an ESPN analyst, has credited Taylor with significantly influencing Travis's personal growth over the past year. In an interview on the Feb. 18 episode of the 'Fitz & Whit' podcast, Jason expressed, "Honestly, it's been astonishing. One thing I've always loved about Travis is that he never truly grew up; he was like Peter Pan among the Lost Boys."
However, it seems those carefree days are now a distant memory for Travis, and Jason harbors no resentment towards the change. "Sometimes, people enter your life who bring out the best in you," he continued, "and that's a beautiful thing."
