Caught in a situation she never imagined, this mother finds herself at the center of suspicion in a world that seems indifferent to her existence. According to the synopsis from the producers, desperation fuels her actions as she navigates an uncertain path.

Perry, who will write and direct "Straw," is bringing his unique vision to this latest film under his multi-year deal with Netflix. The movie is set to shoot in Atlanta, adding to Perry's impressive slate of Netflix projects, which includes "Mea Culpa" starring Kelly Rowland, "A Jazzman's Blues," "A Madea Homecoming," the 12th installment of the popular "Madea" franchise, and the thriller "A Fall from Grace."

Kerry Washington leads an ensemble cast that also includes Oprah Winfrey.
