Money holds little sway over Kelly Stafford, the host of The Morning After podcast. Reflecting on her bond with her spouse, Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, Kelly emphasized that his triumphs have enriched her existence in myriad ways.
"I am immensely fortunate to have an extraordinary husband who offers unwavering support," Kelly exclaimed during the August 31st edition of the Sunday Sports Club podcast. "Moreover, I'm deeply grateful—as everyone will surely attest—for the financial stability that allows me to pursue diverse endeavors and indulge in life's luxuries."
Despite having access to opulence, the 36-year-old emphasized, "I still strive to prove to myself that none of these material possessions are necessary." Equally significant for Kelly is the example she sets for her daughters, Sawyer and Chandler, both aged 8, Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5, whom she shares with the NFL superstar.
"I won't allow them to grow up as pampered, spoiled brats," she clarified. "Raising them that way is not an option for me. I cannot do it." She admitted, "It's challenging because indulging their every whim could be all too tempting given our affluent lifestyle."
Kelly shared that both she and Matthew, 37, who also had humble beginnings, are steadfast in keeping their children grounded amidst their affluent surroundings. "My husband too didn't grow up in such circumstances, so navigating parenthood with wealth is a learning journey for us," she noted. "We learn and adapt as we go along."
Kelly has never shied away from discussing her parenting strategies. In June, she candidly revealed that occasionally consuming weed gummies positively influenced her household management. "Sometimes I feel like gummies make me a better parent," she confessed on her Morning After podcast. "They soothe me. It's akin to having a glass of wine."
Though she admitted to occasionally feeling a "tinge of guilt" about this practice, she emphasized that her children's needs were always met. "As long as they're tucked in bed, well-fed, content, and feel loved, who really cares about the means?" Kelly added. "Just ensure they reach that state of well-being."
