According to Patrick Schwarzenegger, "The White Lotus" is poised to deliver an even more stunning climax. Having already ventured into controversial territories with a nude scene and an incestuous storyline in season three, the actor who portrays Saxon Ratliff hinted that the final two episodes would be so astonishing that he wouldn't dare to watch them alongside his famous family.
During a recent guest appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," Schwarzenegger's mother, Maria Shriver, inquired about the episode that made him the most anxious for her to witness via a video message. She playfully referred to his nude scene in the premiere episode, saying, "I've been anticipating every episode you've been nervous about, and you keep insisting, 'That's not me, it's a prosthetic.' Alright then."
Schwarzenegger confessed, "It was somewhat daunting to watch the first episode with my entire family, considering I was partially nude." However, it was the upcoming final episodes that truly had him on edge. "I think I'll be watching some of the upcoming episodes without them," he revealed. I'll definitely need a bathroom break. The upcoming episodes are... absolutely mind-blowing!"
As fans eagerly await the conclusion with numerous unanswered questions, the latest episode certainly didn't disappoint in terms of shock value. Not only did Saxon and Lochlan Ratliff (played by Sam Nivola) share a kiss, but they also engaged in a threesome with Chloe (played by Charlotte Le Bon).
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter about the incest storyline, Schwarzenegger acknowledged the sensationalism but emphasized the deeper meanings intended by creator Mike White. "There's more to it than meets the eye," he explained. "Behind the character's actions lies the conflict he's grappling with. How will this impact his self-identity? What are his thoughts on masculinity? What defines a man? These are the questions he's struggling with, contrasting his current actions with his past beliefs."
He further elaborated, "Mike does an exceptional job with my character in that scene, and throughout past seasons, he's always incorporated elements that are both entertaining and outrageous, sparking conversations. However, these elements are also integral to the characters' journey and their ultimate destination. Especially in the relationship between Saxon and his younger brother, there's always more to it than just the shocking value on screen."
Schwarzenegger's father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was also taken aback by the latest episode of "The White Lotus," as evident from his recent post on X (formerly Twitter).
