The news of Bethany Weaver's transformation into the iconic Dorothy character in Wicked: For Good was a thrilling revelation, and the England-based actress and dancer shared the profound impact it had on her life.

Director Jon had kept Bethany's casting a secret until the film's release on November 21, explaining that he wanted to keep Dorothy's role from being a focal point of the movie. "I didn't want to interfere with the perception of Dorothy that you might have formed before watching," he told People in October, adding that "it's Elphaba and Glinda's journey, and she is a pawn in the middle of it all."
