Yulissa Escobar has unveiled the intricacies surrounding her abrupt exit from "Love Island USA." Exactly one month after her unexpected departure from the Peacock series, triggered by an online uproar over racial slurs resurfaced from her past podcast appearances, the reality TV star has clarified the circumstances leading to her exit from the villa after a mere two episodes.

"Plot twist alert: I wasn't hauled out in the dead of night," Yulissa captioned a July 3 TikTok video. "I marched out in full daylight, head held high, lashes flawlessly in place." She set the record straight about the online rumors suggesting she was silently removed while her fellow islanders slumbered. The 27-year-old then embarked on sharing her perspective of the events.

"I didn't awaken in the wee hours of the morning," she elaborated. "No one dragged me out of bed forcibly." In fact, the day commenced as any ordinary one would—with her costar Ace Greene preparing her breakfast. As she began to feel more settled and was starting to emerge from her shell, Yulissa recalled planning a lively game of spin the bottle with the guys to spice things up. However, production had alternate arrangements in mind.

"I can't pinpoint the exact time because we're secluded from the outside world," she explained. "I was summoned to the front and met with a producer who asked me to remove my mic." At that juncture, the Miami native sensed something grave was impending.

"I was genuinely frightened," she recounted. "I feared something had happened to a family member. They didn't disclose much. They merely mentioned a video had resurfaced online and it wasn't looking favorable. I had no clue which video, what I had said, or what I had done."

After enduring another two days without her phone while her episodes aired, she finally gained access to it and discovered the videos in question featured her using the N-word on multiple podcasts while discussing past relationships. "I was like, 'Oh my God. No way,'" she said. "I get it. I said a word I shouldn't have. I deeply regret it. But I can't turn back time. I'm truly sorry for uttering that word."
