At the 2025 Golden Globes, Zoe Saldaña, the stellar Emilia Pérez, was moved to tears as she accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. Addressing the audience from the podium on Sunday evening, Saldaña expressed her heartfelt gratitude for her maiden Golden Globes victory. "My heart overflows with thankfulness," she declared.
Continuing her speech, Saldaña expressed her profound appreciation to the cast and crew of the Netflix film, highlighting director Jacques Audiard, leading lady Karla Sofía Gascón, and fellow category nominee Selena Gomez. "This is a milestone for me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to share this moment with Selena, Karla, Jacques, and all my fellow nominees. You all inspire me deeply," she said.
Saldaña, who received her first Golden Globe nomination for her role in the film, also commended her fellow nominees for their unwavering support. "I've witnessed a beautiful camaraderie among us, where we lift each other up and celebrate each other's successes. It's truly a sight to behold," she remarked.
When it came to praising Audiard, Saldaña couldn't help but gush, "You're the epitome of French chic, confidence, and kindness – I adore it!" She then turned her attention to her co-stars, saying, "Adriana, Édgar [Ramírez], and Selena, I share this honor with you. Karla, no one could have portrayed Emilia Pérez with the same depth and nuance as you did."
The other nominees in the category included Gomez, Ariana Grande (for Wicked), Felicity Jones (for The Brutalist), Margaret Qualley (for The Substance), and Isabella Rossellini (for Conclave). The award was presented by the voice stars of Moana 2, Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson.
