1992 – Season 1 Episode 4 1

At the hospital, the trio gathers around Victoria's bedside, confronting him with the possibility that Jose might be the mastermind behind the entire ordeal. Once Victoria is discharged and safely returned home, Richi urges him to stay under wraps and out of sight. He entrusts his phone number to Victoria for emergency use and embarks on a mission to delve deeper into the mystery, seeking answers they might have overlooked.

Meanwhile, the ransom note's Miami origins come to light, prompting Richi to board a flight to the sunny state without hesitation. Robledo, on the other hand, confronts another challenge in the form of Carmen, who meticulously pieces together clues. She discovers that the boot prints on the ground match a pair from 1968, sparking her determination to uncover the killer's identity. Armed with this new lead, she heads back home to continue her investigation.

Amparo accompanies Richi to Miami, her presence a comforting balm for his severe anxiety. As they sit together, their hands intertwined in a gesture of mutual support, Amparo confides in Richi about her altercation with Alvaro the night before his untimely death. It transpires that Alvaro might have been involved in an affair, betraying years of claims that he visited his brother for poker nights that never were. Suspecting the worst, Amparo fears that another woman might have stolen her husband's heart.

Richi unveils the reality, bringing to light that Alvaro had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for years, all while keeping this from her. The reason behind his inability to confide in his wife remains a mystery. Nonetheless, the couple lands without incident but soon finds themselves in the midst of a hurricane in the next scene. They end up stranded in Miami, more precisely, in a shoddy motel with bloodstains marring the carpet. With no other option, they reinforce the windows and resort to drinking. This ultimately leads to both of them getting extremely intoxicated.

Amparo, frightened, finds comfort in Richi's embrace throughout the night. After sharing tender kisses and spooning, they manage to make it through the night and eventually dress up, ready to confront Jose. However, instead of Jose, they encounter his wife, who is outside taking care of crocodiles. She claims that Jose has passed away and even presents a death certificate as proof. Meanwhile, Robledo arrives to speak with Rosa at the hospital. Though awake, she is clearly in a dire state. Rosa insists that she saw nothing and even takes the blame for the bombing herself. But soon, she goes into shock, prompting the doctors to intervene.

Throughout this turmoil, the killer appears at the hospital and confronts Rosa, who is once again alone. She begs him to end it, and with tears streaming down his face, he grabs a pillow and mercilessly ends her life. Upon learning of this, Robledo rushes after the killer, who attempts to flee on a motorcycle. A heated chase ensues, leading to the rooftop of a building. The killer throws Robledo off the edge, but somehow, Robledo miraculously survives the fall. Despite his predicament, Robledo manages to call Richi and attempts to explain his whereabouts. Tragically, the killer seizes him and drags him into his lair.
