Episode 6 of Alice in Borderland Season 2 dives straight back into the intense narrative where we previously left off. Usagi valiantly attempts to fend off the Queen, who swiftly overpowers her and sets her sights on capturing Arisu. Despite the odds, Usagi persists in her Efforts to thwart the Queen's advance. She successfully convinced the three to side with them, but this did not change the overall situation. These men had been persuaded that surviving and subservient to the Queen was the best option.
Usagi delivers an emotional speech, passionately arguing that there is a greater purpose they must strive for – defeating the Queen, clearing all face cards, and returning to their world. Her rousing words resonate deeply, convincing another man to emerge from the shadows and join their cause. However, they still need five more allies, leaving them with only one viable option: to challenge the Queen at her own game.
Arisu finds himself surrounded by a multitude of the Queen's henchmen, but his quick thinking allows him to grab a chain and swing to safety. Unfortunately, this maneuver leads the group directly into a trap, but the Challengers manage to sway everyone else to their side… except for the Queen, of course.
After the Queen's defeat, Arisu confronts her on the rooftop, questioning whether she was initially one of the players. The Queen remains evasive, merely telling him to clear all the games before he will uncover the truth. With that, the Queen leaps off the building, plummeting towards her demise, but the laser strikes her before she touches the ground.
Arisu and Usagi bid farewell to the survivors, who are now free from the game's grip. The duo continues their journey and stumbles upon the ruins of the stadium, the same one Akane had escaped from. They venture inside together and discover a hidden hot spring. As they relax in the soothing waters, they glance upwards and are astounded to see several elephants present as well.
Eventually, Arisu and Usagi share a tender kiss, but their romantic interlude is abruptly interrupted by the stark reality of their surroundings. They notice a crushed dead body embedded within the walls, a grim reminder of the perilous world they still inhabit.
Meanwhile, Kuina persists on her journey, stumbling upon her hospital bed from the past, her heart aching with the longing to reunite with her mother. Her burgeoning hope fuels Ann's determination as well, as she ponders her next steps amidst the wilderness. There, Ann discovers a fallen deer, a symbol of resilience amidst despair—a testament to never losing hope. This encounter emboldens her to press onward, vowing to return and conquer the remaining games. Yet, challenges loom large: the formidable King of Spades and, within the halls of the Supreme Court, the enigmatic King of Diamonds await.
At this crucial juncture, Chishiya finds himself caught in the latest game, titled the Beauty Contest. Participants face a daunting task: selecting a number between 0 and 100 within three minutes. The game's mechanic is cruel yet cunning—the average of these chosen numbers, multiplied by 0.8, determines the winning figure, and whoever picks the closest wins. The stakes are high: staying afloat means maintaining one's points, while dipping to -10 results in a brutal elimination—sulfuric acid as the grim reaper. The King of Diamonds, with an aura suggesting a past life as a lawyer, adds to the Supreme Court's eerie ambiance.
Master Kuzuryu swiftly secures a 2-0 lead with uncanny guesses, each one revealing his sharp mind. Flashbacks peel away layers of his past, depicting him as a virtuous lawyer corrupted by superior orders to prioritize duty over morality. His refusal to comply exposed him to the grimy underbelly of justice, leaving him disillusioned. Two contestants succumb to the acid's fiery embrace, their screams echoing a barbaric and harrowing demise, reducing the players to a final trio and ushering in new, harsher rules. Now, identical picks disqualify, and a correct guess costs opponents double points.
Amidst a flurry of identical choices, Chishiya emerges victorious, his prowess in deduction outsmarting all challengers. He narrows down the competition to just two: himself and Master Kuzuryu. The final stretch introduces another twist: opting for zero leaves victory to the opponent who chooses 100. A rule meant to introduce fairness in a world where equity is a luxury for the wealthy, not a virtue for all.
The tension thickens, the stakes impossible to ignore, as these final contestants grapple with not just their wits but the very fabric of justice itself.
Chishiya, well-versed in the depths of corruption, once found himself at its epicenter when he manipulated the transplant list to prioritize a donor patient over a desperately ill child. Perhaps this past haunting experience is what prompts him, in the present, to declare to Kuzuryu that he intends to select 100. Kuzuryu ponders his options... and ultimately concedes the round to Chishiya. With the score tied at -9 each, the stage is set for the final confrontation. Chishiya reveals his bold choice of 100, daring Kuzuryu to respond. Kuzuryu, unwavering in his commitment to fairness and autonomy, chooses to sacrifice himself, allowing the King to exit the game on his own terms. He harbors no regrets, and in a game centered around justice and choice, Chishiya emerges victorious, unscathed.
Elsewhere, Akane strikes out alone, leaving Aguni leaning against a tree as if abandoned. Meanwhile, Arisu and Usagi arrive at a critical juncture, opting to confront their fate head-on. Kuina too makes her stand, choosing to battle for redemption, paving the way for a gripping conclusion to this season spread across the upcoming episodes.
