Asaf – Season 1 Episode 2 1

The narrative loops back to where we ended in the previous episode. Asaf presents his identification to the officer and portrays the young boy in his car as his son, cleverly diverting the officer's attention. The officer lets him off without probing further.

As they journey on, they pause momentarily, and Asaf attempts to extract more information from the enigmatic boy. The child persists in claiming ignorance about his parents and expresses hope that Asaf will lead him to them. Predictably, Asaf conveys the boy to Sema and implores her to keep an eye on him.

The young boy engages Atlas in play but frightens him by convincing him that the police are coming for his dad. Asaf fabricates a tale about babysitting for colleagues from work and having to attend to an urgent matter. Sema is wounded, feeling neglected as Asaf prioritizes strange children over his own flesh and blood. He vows to sign the divorce papers upon his return.

In a separate scenario, Asaf calls Payen Kuyern and issues a veiled threat, hinting at exposing secrets to the police. Meanwhile, at home, Sema tries to bond with the new boy, who gifts her his bracelet. Elsewhere, Asaf meets Murat, who is grappling with his own predicament. Murat has been sleeping with Mertem, his boss's girlfriend, and she is now pregnant. Desperate, he begs Asaf to lend him his car, but Asaf refuses outright.

Murat is visibly hurt, and their argument intensifies as Captain Argun's phone rings from the trunk. Asaf pretends not to hear it, prompting Murat to exit the vehicle to investigate. Seizing the opportunity, Asaf speeds off. Later, he cautiously inspects the Captain's phone and answers the incoming call, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding saga.

On the other end of the line, the mysterious man counsels Asaf to dispose of the body discreetly before alerting the authorities to his presence. Asaf responds to the text, noticing that the contact is saved under the name Cüneyt. Delving into Captain Argun's pockets, Asaf discovers a USB stick. Rushing back to his home, he inserts it into his laptop, uncovering deeper layers of Payen Kuyern's sinister schemes.

Empowered by this newfound knowledge, Asaf makes his way to the police station. While awaiting his turn, Cüneyt approaches him, revealing himself as the same individual who had collided with Asaf's car earlier. He issues a chilling warning, urging Asaf to remain silent about Payen Kuyern in exchange for a quicker release from any trouble.

The detective in charge arrives, and Asaf learns a startling truth: Cüneyt holds a high-ranking position within the police force. Seeing the perilous situation, Asaf decides to keep his silence and leaves the station. A worried call from Atlas follows, fearing Asaf's imminent arrest. Assuring him of his well-being and promising a swift return, Asaf also reminisces fondly about their beach trip and vows to gift his son another kite.

Driven by a heavy heart, Asaf ventures to a remote lake and, after securing the body with heavy stones, dumps Captain Argun's remains into the depths. Tormented by guilt and fury, he reflects on his unforeseen journey to this dark path. A message notification alerts him that his driving account has been terminated due to poor ratings, adding another layer of despair. Leaving his car at his residence, Asaf changes his clothes and heads to Sema's place, but his conversation is cut short by an unexpected arrest.

Meanwhile, the police intensify their search for Captain Argun. Atlas is overwhelmed with sorrow as Asaf is taken into custody. At the station, Sema reaches out to Harun for assistance. Upon his arrival, Cüneyt and his partner grill Asaf about his last encounter with Captain Argun, the atmosphere thick with tension and uncertainty.

They inquire about the injuries adorning his hands, to which Asaf casually attributes it to a mere mishap. He steadfastly declines to delve into his discussion with Captain Argun, portraying ignorance about the captain's mysterious disappearance. His sole contention remains a speculative link between Captain Argun and Payen Kuyern. Cüneyt then proceeds to play the recording of Asaf's final call to Captain Argun, followed by another audio where someone is threatened to retrieve belongings from a trunk.

The authorities locate Asaf's car, occupied by Murat, and seize it. They also summon Mertem and Murat, who were passengers in the vehicle. It transpires that Murat had borrowed the car without Asaf's consent. Nevertheless, both remain in the dark about the captain's whereabouts or Asaf's predicaments.

Upon inspecting Asaf's trunk, the police uncover a treasure trove of cash. It becomes evident that Asaf leveraged the information on the USB to select a parcel meant for Cüneyt. As the police unlatch the trunk, Cüneyt receives a call from Payen Kuyern, expressing gratitude for his assistance.
