In the poignant fifth episode of Bad Sisters' second season, Eva unburdens her heart to her menopause coach, Eileen, delving into the depths of her feelings about aging and the haunting void left by Grace's absence. She is ensnared by a torturous sense of guilt, wishing she could have thwarted the悲剧. As their session concludes and they bid each other farewell, Eileen casually mentions acquiring a fresh client – Angelica. This revelation resonates with an unmistakable air of coincidence.

Bad Sisters – Season 2 Episode 5 1

The detectives' probing into the funds Grace withdrew draws Eva into their inquiry. Houlihan extracts from Eva that she believes Ian and Grace crossed paths at a bereavement group, following Ian's loss of his sister. However, Ian had previously told them their paths converged online, casting a shadow of doubt.

After the detectives' departure, Eva cautiously unwraps a package, which turns out to be a karaoke machine meticulously chosen by Grace for her birthday, a gesture now tinged with poignant memories of a life cut short.

They collectively resolved to purify Eva's hearth and entrust Angelica with the solemn duty of scattering its ashes at sea, a gesture meant to honor Grace's memory rather than her remains. Arrangements were made with Angelica for a seafaring journey the following day, where she would perform the ritual of dissemination. However, Angelica's emotions took a sharp turn, accusing Eva of improper conduct with Ian and failing to uphold the sanctity of Grace's memory.

Meanwhile, Houlihan returned Grace's personal effects to Ian, seizing the moment to delve deeper into his past with her. Ian clarified that their relationship had blossomed online, leading to a face-to-face encounter within the bereavement group. She inquired if the group had been therapeutic, to which Ian replied that Angelica seemed to thrive on exploiting others' sorrow.

Elsewhere, Loftus' daughter, Jess, conveyed her reluctance to relocate to Australia, preferring to stay close to her father. Determined to retain custody, Loftus called Nadine, vowing to battle for his daughter's companionship. This new resolve necessitated him to scrape together the funds necessary for the legal fray.

Ian offered solace to Eva, still reeling from the sorrow of her birthday amid Grace's absence, presenting her with a thoughtful gift of cozy new slippers. Eva confided in him about Angelica's warnings of feeling unsafe in his presence. Ian conceded to a moment of lost composure, having impulsively ordered Angelica to stay out of their affairs.

Eva, concerned for her sister's well-being, warned Blanaid to steer clear of Angelica's influence, but Blanaid defiantly asserted her autonomy. That evening, the sisters orchestrated a surprise celebration for Eva, with Roger dropping by to extend an invitation, which she politely declined.

As the guests departed and the sisters commenced cleaning up, Becka revealed a bombshell: she was pregnant but hadn't decided on her course of action. She extended heartfelt apologies to Bibi, and they embraced, amidst karaoke tunes dedicated to Grace, their voices blending in a chorus of bittersweet memories.

The next morning, they all meet Angelica at the pier, but she isn’t there. And Eva can’t find Blanaid. The teen went to see Angelica, but not knowing this, Eva panics.

Houlihan theorizes that Ian has been looking for the money Grace took out. She doesn’t buy that Grace’s death was a matter of a simple collision. The detective thinks she could have been in an abusive relationship. It would make sense that she had a secret stash in case she ever needed to run. Loftus says he’ll look into it.

And look into it he does. But when he finds the money in Grace’s turtle pen, he pockets it for himself.

After looking around for Blanaid everywhere, Eva goes to the police to file a missing persons report. Loftus and Houlihan pull her aside, and she tells the detectives that people she can’t trust are around Blanaid. Houlihan thinks she means Ian, but she shares that she means Angelica and her theory she was blackmailing Grace.

Eventually, Blanaid turns up at home. It turns out she was just shopping with some money Angelica had given her. She yells at Eva for making a show of looking for her and tells her she’s not her mother.

Ian thinks she overreacted too. Eva cries, claiming it’s too hard and she doesn’t think she can do it, so Ian suddenly changes his tune and comforts her. He kisses her, but Eva apologizes afterward and walks away.

Finally, Angelica arrives at the pier. She spreads what she thinks are Grace’s ashes into the ocean. She then shares that Blanaid came to her this morning, and the sisters warn her to stay away from her.

Angelica struggles immensely with refraining from meddling in others' affairs. She asserts that Eva is so engrossed in her schemes to win over Ian that she has neglected Blanaid. Furthermore, she alleges that Eva employed similar tactics with John Paul in the past. The Garvey sisters vigorously object, accusing her of ignoring the fact that JP raped Eva. Angelica dismisses this as a "conveniently concocted story," emphasizing that Ian cannot be trusted. As she prepares to elaborate on her suspicions, a deafening crash echoes through the air—the boom collapses, plunging Angelica into the water. Desperate and unable to contact the coastguard, they attempt a rescue mission on their own. Becka dives into the depths, propelling herself towards Angelica with all her might, but it is already beyond hope. They have lost her to the unforgiving waters.
