Bait – Season 1 Episode 6 1

While Shah is passed out, he dreams of his mother enrolling him in a fancy private school, where he fears being bullied by white boys. However, she reminds him that he is Shahjehan, named after a great king. He wakes up to find Felicia driving him home. She updates him that his weird death soliloquy has gone viral and was sent to her by Q. Felicia assures him that his family is fine and the audition is still on. However, when he arrives home, he sees that Felicia has tied up Q, Zulfi, Parvez, and Tahira.

Felicia rants that she has been trying to make him a star for eight years but that he is self-sabotaging because he hungers for his family's approval, which he never gets. She claims that he needs to kill them to nail the audition. Initially, his family tries to change his mind, but they soon start arguing about who put the most pressure on him. Tired of the arguing, he kills them all...only to wake up from a dream. So, no, he did not kill anyone.

Shah discovers that he is in a hospital for his injuries from being hit by a car. When he tries to leave, he runs into his family in the next room. It seems that Parvez had a heart scare, and they are glad to see him. All has been forgiven, and they are happy he came. He wants to make things right with Zulfi next but he is gone.

A flashback shows Zulfi confronting Salim who reveals that he is genuinely interested in his taxi business and even asks Zulfi to come with him to Dubai for the investment meeting.

At present, Shah drags Q with him to the airport to stop Zulfi. They run into Yasmin and a tall Oliver. Yasmin thinks Shah is there for her and is about to give a speech before he stops her. Shah realizes his newfound priority and runs off to find Zulfi. Unable to find him and get through a Brown security guard, Shah comes up with a plan. He claims Zulfi is a terrorist and they need to stop him, but the security guard doesn't believe him. Zulfi is right behind him and is annoyed that Shah tried to sabotage him again.

Shah apologizes for everything but Zulfi reveals that he has been trying to repay the Latifs for taking him and Q in. Seeing Shah, he too wants to do his own thing for once. He is sarcastic but also thankful to Shah for making him see it. He is also amused but touched that Shah went to such lengths to stop him when he was coming home in four days.

Nearby, Q tells Salim that she is tired of being seen as a kid. He agrees that she is not just a checklist for a future wife; he genuinely likes her. It's not quite a romantic speech, but she likes him too.

After mending his relationship with Zulfie, Shah receives a surprise revelation from Q that he's still eligible for the audition. As he arrives at the studio, he's greeted by a vision of himself in the mirror—a perfect and impeccably dressed Bond. But this time, he refuses to be intimidated. With a confident swagger, he heads onto the set.

The audition begins, and he performs flawlessly. The director is impressed and finally understands what it means to be someone like Bond. He's referring to the stress and responsibilities that both Bond and Shah share—trying to make everyone happy, from their families and communities to their fans and themselves. The director congratulates him, suggesting that he's basically secured the role and asks him to say his final line: "The name's Bond, James Bond."

As he prepares to deliver the line, he remembers his family being proud of him. In the end, he says, "My name is Shahjehan."
