The opening scene of the second season of Beef unfolds at Monte Vista Point (MVP), a lavish country club, where Austin and Ashley, a newly engaged couple, are working. Austin, a personal trainer by profession, takes up part-time shifts at the club during special events with his fiancée Ashley. The club is managed by Joshua (Josh) Martin and his wife, Lindsay, an interior designer, who joins him for a fundraiser event.

At the event, Josh announces that the club has been bought out by Chairwoman Park. The couple presents a picture-perfect image in public but their relationship cracks on their way back home. Their supervisor, Janet, assigns Austin and Ashley the task of returning Josh’s wallet, which he had accidentally left at the club.
As they approach Josh’s luxurious estate, Austin and Ashley are taken aback by the lavish lifestyle he has built while serving as the General Manager. At the house, their peace is shattered by the sound of a violent argument between Josh and Lindsay, which escalates into a physical fight. The couple witnesses things breaking around them and Ashley starts filming the argument for evidence. The video captures Josh trying to grab a golf club from Lindsay, making it seem like he is about to hit her.
When the older couple notices them outside, Austin and Ashley run away in a panic. On their way back, Ashley is distraught after watching the video again. Austin tries to reassure her that reporting the incident was the right thing to do, but Ashley worries about losing her job.
Back at the house, Josh finds his wallet and informs Lindsay about Ashley’s involvement in capturing their fight on camera. He says he will speak to Ashley the next day and later contacts Chairwoman Park’s assistant about their upcoming meeting.
The episode ends with a sense of impending conflict and uncertainty for Austin and Ashley, who must navigate through the complex dynamics of workplace politics and personal relationships.
The following morning, Josh addresses the staff, preparing them for the new owner's visit. As he speaks to everyone, he can't help but notice Ashley, who is frantically texting Austin about being targeted by her boss. Josh asks her to put her phone away, and she promptly switches it off for the rest of the day.
Meanwhile, Austin, bored at home without clients, decides to do something to help Ashley. He goes to Josh and Lindsay's house and speaks to Lindsay privately. He offers support and asks her to reach out if she needs help. However, Lindsay tells him he is misreading the situation and warns him about a possible conflict with Ashley. She claims that couples who fight last longer, suggesting that Ashley is possibly hiding things from him if they are not fighting yet.
Back at the club, Josh confronts Ashley about Austin approaching Lindsay. He indirectly threatens her job and asks both of them to stay out of his personal matters. Later, Josh and Lindsay welcome Chairwoman Park and give her a tour. Lindsay discusses her interior design work, but is disappointed when Chairwoman Park rejects the colonial style and asks for a complete redesign.
Meanwhile, Ashley experiences severe abdominal pain and visits a doctor. She is told that she has a cyst in her ovary that requires surgery, as it could become life-threatening and affect her ability to conceive. Ashley is shaken but decides not to tell Austin.
Elsewhere, Lindsay runs into Woosh, a tennis instructor, while discarding the rejected cushions. Josh worries about losing his job as he discusses the redesign with a VIP member and his friend, Troy.
That night, Ashley struggles to focus while being intimate with Austin. When he notices something is wrong, she tells him about the cyst and the need for surgery. She also admits that she lacks a high school degree and health insurance, which complicates her situation.
Meanwhile, Josh masturbates to an OnlyFans model but feels guilty and deletes his account. He goes for a run while Lindsay texts Woosh and flirts with him. She deletes other contacts, including her ex, Duke Desmond, before taking out her tennis gear, preparing for a training session with Woosh.
Later that night, Austin and Ashley discuss the gap between their lives and those of Josh and Lindsay. They decide to use the video to secure a promotion for Ashley that includes health insurance. Episode 1 ends with the couple arriving at Josh and Lindsay's house to confront them.
