Berlin – Season 1 Episode 3

Published: Nov 15 2024

Episode 3 of "Berlin" kicks off with Berlin and his crew huddled together, strategizing the second phase of their daring heist. Berlin warmly welcomes Keila to elucidate her pivotal role in their upcoming endeavors. However, Bruce's enthusiasm gets the better of him, causing him to wander aimlessly around the hotel room, creating an unwanted distraction. To discipline him, Berlin makes Bruce chug an entire bottle of champagne he had earlier discovered with excitement. Berlin sternly reminds the team that distractions are luxuries they cannot afford, reminding them of the dire consequences—16 years in prison—if anything goes awry.

The spotlight shifts back to Keila, who reveals her plan to infiltrate the auction house's system. She intends to record footage of the empty vault and antechamber, which will serve as a decoy whenever the team needs to渗透 into the vault. Berlin, confident in their meticulously crafted scheme, believes it will triumph even with an amateurish lineup. He and Damián view the younger members as malleable clay, ready to be molded into proficient thieves. They also recognize the necessity of having one intellectual mind on the team—Damián, who fills that role adeptly.

The veteran duo is rejuvenated by the prospect of working with the youth, eager to impart their wisdom. Sticking to the plan, the team successfully breaches the vault's defenses, sharing electric high-fives and congratulations despite finding it currently devoid of treasures.

Later, Berlin embarks on a romantic outing with Camille at an exclusive restaurant. Coincidentally, François joins them, prompting Berlin to adopt a brash, Spanish art dealer persona to divert suspicion. François, displeased with Berlin's brazen demeanor towards his wife, warns him to tone it down. Little does he know that Berlin is clutching Camille's panties in his pocket, quite literally holding her secrets.

After their encounter, Berlin and Camille share a laugh about the awkward situation. Camille confesses her guilt for betraying François, yet finds the affair exhilarating, crediting Berlin for giving her the vibrant life she's always dreamed of. Berlin extends an invitation for a weekend getaway, urging Camille to fib to her husband about an unexpected work trip. Without any reservations, Berlin and Camille escape to their secret rendezvous, while the rest of the gang bonds over an evening out with Damián.

Damián, reminiscing about his Paris trip with his wife years ago, shares his experiences with his youthful charges. Cameron, seeking an advance on her cut, finds Bruce attempting to ease Keila's tensions. Suddenly, Damián's wife calls, delivering the shocking news of their separation. Devastated, Damián grapples with the sudden turn of events, still deeply in love with his wife and baffled by what went wrong. The gang rallies around him, offering support, and Cameron decides to stay back and comfort Damián, foregoing her plans to dance. She suspects Damián's wife might be having an affair, and after some reflection, Damián concedes that Cameron might be onto something.

On the flipside, Bruce finds himself consumed by anxiety, pondering why Roi has yet to return the bicycle he lent out. The bike, which Bruce had rented, now looms over him like a ticking time bomb, with the specter of police involvement looming ever closer. Roi, ever the pragmatist, dismisses the concern, urging Bruce to let go of the rental acquired under a false passport. Keila chimes in, reminding them that the rental company had snapped Bruce's picture, capable of tracing him through facial recognition technology. Roi counters with a revelation of their own predicament—the bike was allegedly taken by the priest's former inmates.

Meanwhile, after indulging in lazy, bedridden days, Berlin and Camille finally roused themselves from their slumber to seek a change of scenery. Their conversations buzzed with excitement about exploring the wonders of Paris, but their reverie was abruptly shattered by a phone call from François. Confronting Camille about her affair, he revealed that he had stumbled upon incriminating emails on her unlocked laptop. Berlin, sensing the gravity of the unfolding moment, discreetly stepped away for a solitary stroll, savoring the fact that the secret was now out in the open. This revelation cleared the path for him, allowing him to envision a future where Camille would be all his.

Simultaneously, Cameron eavesdrops on François accelerating their plans due to the timely arrival of the jewels. François intends to have the gems assessed prior to a press conference and the subsequent auction, a sudden twist that necessitates a swift adjustment of the gang's strategy. Cameron relays this urgency to Damián, who insists on executing the theft that very night. Through Roi, Damián informs Berlin of the revised timeline.

Berlin, in a jubilant mood, harbors hopes that Camille's divorce will soon be finalized. He assures her of his presence during the heist and returns to her side. However, Camille delivers a bombshell—she refuses to abandon her husband, revealing that François desires to be a father and embark on the family life Camille has always craved. This revelation strikes Berlin like a thunderbolt, leaving him confounded and questioning his role in her life. He requests a night's separation, promising to reconvene over breakfast.

As he drives back to town, Berlin vents his frustrations to Roi, lamenting his status as merely Camille's casual fling. He confesses his affection for Camille, unable to shake her from his mind. Berlin's anger intensifies upon learning that François intends to build a future with Camille. Determined to take drastic measures, Berlin orders Roi to secure acetone and bleach to concoct chloroform. Berlin's sinister plan: to administer it to François, teaching him a harsh lesson.
