For the execution of this meticulously crafted segment of their plan, they meticulously dismantle one of the high-voltage power lines that snake beneath the auction house. Prior to the impending blackout, they orchestrate a clever decoy, posing as headquarters personnel in dire need of assistance. This ruse effectively distracts the vigilant guards, who hastily abandon their posts to investigate the supposed emergency, thereby clearing the path for the gang to execute their daring heist.
The sudden plunge into darkness disables not only the auction house's surveillance system but also the mechanism that unlocks the vault doors. This unexpected turn of events prompts the guards to hastily summon technicians, leaving the gang with a crucial window of opportunity. They gamble on the arrival of technicians from Geneva and anticipate the vault being accessed within a six to seven-hour timeframe, confident that they will have vanished without a trace by then.
After methodically sealing every entry point they utilized during their triumphant raid, the team disperses, returning to their respective hotels in discreet, separate contingents. Berlin issues strict instructions for the team to confines themselves to their rooms, conducting a meticulous sweep to purge any incriminating evidence. He further advises a staggered checkout between 9 and 10 AM the following morning, aiming to avoid raising any eyebrows.
