As the second episode of Better Call Saul Season 6 unfolded, Mike and his associates made their way to Nacho's abode, planting a telltale clue for Don Eladio's henchmen. Gustavo, ever the mastermind, had decided to sacrifice Nacho and instructed Mike to leave an envelope in Nacho's locker at the house, containing the number of the motel where he was staying.

Meanwhile, Saul and Kim concocted another ruse to further their narrative on Howard's involvement in the cocaine affair. Saul plotted a visit to a familiar foe, while Gus remained unconvinced about Lalo's demise upon seeing the evidence presented by the Federales. His doubts were confirmed when he visited the Kettleman couple, the treasurer who had stolen money and fled with his family to the woods to show they had run away. Now operating out of a kitschy office, Gus suggested that they had improper legal counsel in their fraud case—guess who that lawyer was? Howard himself. Saul elucidated Howard's cocaine habit and struck a deal. The Kettleman couple then visited several legal offices, including Clifford Main's, but to no avail. Howard Hamlin's reputation stood firm.

Eladio's men found the envelope and Nacho's whereabouts. Nacho was already on edge about the arrangement and when he noticed a strange man peering through a small hut towards his room, he knew he was being watched. He escaped through the AC vent, flanked the man, and backtracked him. Nacho suspected Gus' involvement and called Tyrus in a feigned panic state to lure him into calling the man. Tyrus obliged, and Nacho knocked him unconscious. Just as he was about to start the vehicle, Bolsa's men and the cousins showed up. They searched for him everywhere but on command by the cousins, who wanted him alive, they didn't shoot. Nacho managed to escape for the time being.

At Gus' makeshift office, Mike confronted him when Gus asked him to fetch Nacho's father. Mike was adamant, despite Victor holding a gun to his face for defying orders. In that moment, Nacho called and requested to speak with Gus (though we didn't know at that time that it was Nacho). The final sequence unfolded at the Kettleman's residence. Kim accompanied Saul and they decided to play the situation using a "carrots and sticks" approach. The Kettleman couple was furious with Saul, threatening to reveal his attempts to defame Howard to him. Kim finally took charge and phoned a friend in the tax department, threatening to reveal the Kettleman tax scam that they operated from that place. The Kettleman couple reluctantly agreed and Kim and Saul drove away, only to be followed by another car, unbeknownst to them.
