Dove has returned to her compatriots, only to discover that she's facing a two-year stint in prison for stealing the laptop of the man who took his own life in the season's explosive opener. The laptop, incidentally, holds the key to her investigative tale. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they stumble upon Mrs. O'Shea's cincture, a relic from the Sisters of Mercy, the yogic nuns of the town. But when Dove presses for answers, Mrs. O'Shea loses her composure, barking at them to return whence they came. If that wasn't enough, she even cancels breakfast, leaving them in the lurch.

Bodkin – Season 1 Episode 6 1

The gang splits up, with Gilbert bideing his time until his wife, Amber, arrives in the town. Meanwhile, a surprise awaits them - Seamus is alive! He manages to make his way back to the warehouse, dragging the eel barrels along. He reveals to Sean that the McArdles are hot on his trail, and he's fleeing the town. Before his departure, he instructs Sean to sell the eels to the Spaniards tonight, but Sean has other plans brewing.

As the officer arrives to arrest Dove, Mrs. O'Shea is heard whispering frantically on the phone. She mutters about the need to "slow them down," a clear allusion to Dove, Gilbert, and Emmy. What sinister schemes are afoot in this ostensibly sleepy town?

Dove and Emmy make their way to the Sisters of Mercy, seeking answers about Sister McDonagh. But they're rudely denied access and hauled into Sister Bernadette's office. Something isn't quite right here. They grill Bernadette about Fiona, but she deflects the questions, turning the spotlight on Dove and her past transgressions - specifically, the chapel fire she's accused of setting at the convent where she once resided. Bernadette storms out, leaving Dove and Emmy trapped in the nun's office.

Meanwhile, Gilbert's wife, Amber, finally arrives in Bodkin. She presses him to sign the divorce papers, revealing that he used her story as the backbone of his now-popular podcast. Despite his apologies, she remains unswayed. In the end, Gilbert capitulates and signs the papers.

Elsewhere, Sean and Seamus strike a deal with some Spanish lads to offload the eels. But Sean isn't happy with the terms of the agreement, and his dissatisfaction simmers beneath the surface.

Dove interrogates Sister McDonagh about Fiona's whereabouts, and the sister reveals a shocking truth. Fiona, it turns out, is actually Sister Dominica, and she's been concealing her identity at the Sisters of Mercy convent all this time, supposedly to safeguard the queen. Moreover, she harbors a secret beehive. Is Fiona still alive? Suddenly, Dove's reality starts to warp, and she's transported back to a haunting memory of witnessing her mother's overdose.

As they delve deeper into the convent's spa area, they encounter an array of nude nuns, a startling sight indeed. It transpires that Sister Bernadette has spiked Dove's tea with psychedelics, triggering flashbacks of her being tortured by the nuns. Dove collapses in the hallway, clinging to Emmy, begging her not to abandon her. Emmy then stumbles upon a clandestine drug operation hidden beneath the nunnery's pious facade.

This show continues to push the boundaries of absurdity! They eventually find themselves in a chapel, which doubles as a hive for numerous bees. In Dove's hallucinatory state, she imagines setting the chapel ablaze. Just when it seems like things couldn't get any more surreal, Dove collapses, and they come face to face with Sister Dominica, who turns out to be not Fiona.

Meanwhile, on the island, Gilbert is on his way to reunite with Emmy and Dove. Along his journey, he encounters Maeve and Teddy, who interrogate him about the mysterious events that transpired that fateful night. However, Gilbert remains tight-lipped, refusing to divulge any information.

Finally, the truth comes to light! Maeve and Sister Bernadette reveal that Fiona had been hiding at the convent because she was pregnant and fleeing from Seamus and the McArdles. Tragically, she went into premature labor and perished, along with her unborn child. Dove collapses in the cemetery, overcome by the revelation.

When she awakens, Dove confides in Sister Bernadette, revealing her own painful past. She confesses that she accidentally set the chapel on fire while smoking inside, a secret she's carried for years. Dove reveals that she was abandoned at the convent by her mother, who refused to acknowledge her existence even after getting clean. The revelations leave everyone in the convent stunned, and Dove's journey takes yet another unexpected turn.

Elsewhere, Sean stealthily snatched the eels from Seamus' possession. Meanwhile, Emmy, Gilbert, and Dove converged in the kitchen of the nunnery, where it became evident that Sister B had concealed yet another secret. How could there be only one grave for a mother and her infant? The dates she had provided contradicted the tale she had spun.

Just as the intrigue was reaching its crescendo, Interpol agents and the police stormed in to apprehend Dove. Gilbert valiantly attempted to fend off the officers while Dove made a dash for freedom, but she ultimately surrendered to their grasp, leaving Gilbert to bear the brunt of a pepper spray assault.

As they were departing the island, a realization dawned on Emmy: Sean was none other than Fiona and Seamus' son. Mrs. O'Shea had entrusted the nuns with Sean, Fiona's cherished babe! She had unraveled the puzzling mystery!

As for Sean, he was engaged in a covert negotiation with the Japanese buyers, who were revealed to be undercover Interpol agents. Oh, and speaking of festivals, the town's Samhain celebration was in full swing, with decorations that bore a striking resemblance to Dove and Gilbert, adding a whimsical touch to the already eventful day.
