Bosch: Legacy – Season 3 Episode 3

Published: Apr 09 2025

The episode kicks off a month prior, depicting Kerry Gallagher (portrayed by Sophia Kopera) being whisked away from the Gallagher family's rustic vacation cabin. In the contemporary timeline, Sheriff Beto Orestes (embodied by Julio Cesar Cedillo) and Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) meticulously search the Gallagher cabin for forensic clues, their eyes scanning for telltale DNA evidence. Moments later, Bosch informs Siobhan Murphy (Orla Brady) of their fruitless endeavor, the cabin yielding no significant findings. He hastily mentions that he must depart to scrutinize Stephen Gallagher's (Matthew Downs) business affairs. Murphy decides to linger in the area for a few days, intending to conduct her own inquiries.

Bosch: Legacy – Season 3 Episode 3 1

Bosch briefly dials his daughter, Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz), attempting to arrange a lunch date. She reluctantly responds that her schedule might be in flux due to her on-call duties. Meanwhile, Jimmy Robertson (Paul Calderon) and Perry Lopez (Miles Gaston Villanueva) approach Captain Rivera (David Grant Wright) with suspicions that Bosch has been surreptitiously depositing $500 into Preston Borders' (Chris Browning) prison canteen account, facilitated through his wife Rita Tedesco (Juliet Landau). Robertson expresses his desire to confront Borders, and Rivera grants him the necessary approval.

Janet Vasquez (Sonia Iris Lozada) observes Maddie acting peculiarly and inquisitively asks what's troubling her. Maddie hesitates but eventually unburdens herself about the ongoing investigation. Vasquez, however, expresses her reluctance to become privy to the details, fearing she might be compelled to deceive on Maddie's behalf.

Bosch then interviews Sheila Walsh (Dale Dickey) and Finbar McShane (Michael Reilly Burke) individually, each session unveiling that they were privy to Stephen's financial misconduct – embezzling funds from his own company. Although Bosch doesn't gather much more substantial information, he does persuade Sheila to compile a comprehensive packet encompassing employee rosters and banking records, setting the stage for further revelations.

Honey Chandler (played by Mimi Rogers) prepares for a radio debate with her adversary, Emmett Archer (portrayed by Jim Holmes), while Siobhan pins up posters, desperate for news about her missing family. When Robertson and Perry confront Borders, he demands they switch off the recorder and confides that upon returning from breakfast one day, he discovered an unexpected visitor in his cell – a missed call waiting. He remains tight-lipped unless they arrange a meeting with the District Attorney.

Bosch reaches out to Siobhan, cautioning that distributing flyers could complicate the investigation. She insists that inactivity is not an option. He urges her return to LA, volunteering to pick her up, but she asserts her independence, vowing to find her own way back.

Robertson and Perry relay Borders' conditions to Archer: he'll cooperate if relocated closer to his wife. Archer insists on bringing him before a Grand Jury, where he must swear under oath. Maurice 'Mo' Bassi (Stephen A. Chang) informs Bosch of his discovery – an employee listed in the payroll but absent from the roster: Justin Boatman (Philip Alexander), Sheila's troubled son, who harbors a criminal record.

Bosch confronts Justin about Stephen, the encounter escalating as Justin attempts to physically intimidate him. Bosch counters swiftly, leaving Justin winded. Justin then confesses to stealing petty cash from Stephen, leading to his termination. He further reveals a murky underbelly within the company.

Meanwhile, the robbery gang peddles their stolen goods at a recording studio. Bosch returns to confront Sheila about omitting her son's name from the employment list. The confrontation is tense, yet Bosch seizes the opportunity to plant a listening device. Elsewhere, Nestor Gomez (Jesse Gallegos) and his criminal cohort clash over the spoils and other operational disputes.

On the airwaves, Honey and Archer engage in a fiery debate over who holds the endorsement of the local law enforcement. When Honey emerges victorious, Archer retorts by inquiring about her ally when the local police declined to support her at the fundraiser. Her mention of Bosch prompts Archer to remind her that Bosch is currently entangled in a conspiracy-to-commit-murder investigation, a revelation that Bosch himself overhears and promptly responds to by calling Maddie, only to reach her voicemail. Hardly has he stepped out of his office when a summons arrives, compelling him to testify before a grand jury.

Bosch makes his way to Maddie's apartment, reassuring her that the storm will eventually pass. However, her calm demeanor shifts when she reveals that Robertson and Perry have already paid her a visit. As Bosch vehemently denies any involvement in Kurt Dockweiler's demise, Maddie probes deeper, steering the conversation towards his past in Afghanistan. His refusal to elaborate earns him a swift exit from her apartment.

Bosch finds himself forced to covertly slip into Honey's home to dissect the radio show fiasco, as media hordes encamp outside her front yard. Elsewhere, Rita engages in a brief exchange with Borders, only to duck into a garage moments later for a hush-hush conversation with two of his associates.

A call from Mo interrupts Bosch's thoughts, who then receives an audio file via email—Finbar and Sheila discussing a forthcoming deal, smaller in scope than their usual operations. Meanwhile, Robertson and Perry fume over Archer's public revelation about Bosch's investigation, branding it a betrayal.

Bosch seeks out Curtis Dignan at his workplace, seeking confirmation on whether the latter had caught wind of the news. Curtis fervently swears his innocence, prompting Bosch to advise him to lay low until he consults with his probation officer. Perry and Robertson observe this encounter from afar, their eyes narrowing in displeasure.

Nestor and Albert, alias Tommy Martinez, stand guard outside a bustling restaurant when an urgent text from their female conspirator flashes across their screens, informing them of the lack of viable marks. Ignoring her advice, they decide to pursue a man donning a red hat and his female companion. The encounter quickly escalates into a brawl, with the man putting up a fierce resistance that draws considerable attention. Narrowly escaping the fray, they breathe a sigh of relief.

Later, Maddie delves into her investigation by interviewing a neighbor who had overheard a gunshot followed by a robbers' conversation. Meanwhile, Michelle Carter, portrayed by Aisha Kabia, strides into the campaign headquarters only to be met with disheartening news: Honey's poll numbers are dwindling. In a brief meeting, Honey connects with her District Attorney contact to discuss Bosch, while Bosch and Mo tail Finbar from Gallagher Enterprises. Their pursuit leads them to what seems like an expansive parking lot filled with industrial-sized machinery, where Finbar is seen engaging in clandestine dealings with several men.

As the episode draws to a close, a poignant scene unfolds: the Gallagher family, huddled together in the rear of a van, are transported to a secluded location and subsequently disembarked by a solitary figure, leaving their fate hanging in the balance.
