Boyfriend On Demand – K-drama Episode 4 1

In the realm of reality, Mi-rae rates her date with Eun-ho a perfect five stars and reflects on her virtual experience. She now has a better grasp of Song's temperament, understanding that while his work may be criticized, his readers still flock to it in droves. Despite the webtoon's steady growth, Mi-rae knows they cannot afford to let their guard down and become complacent.

Interestingly, Mi-rae is offered a real-life date with one of Eun-ju's friends, and she perks up at the prospect of potentially finding "the one." However, Kyeong-nam suddenly chimes in (given they're seated together at adjacent tables!) and brings up that she's already seeing someone. It's quite humorous, and eventually, Mi-rae shies away from the date, missing her chance.

On the way home, Kyeong-nam and Mi-rae walk to the taxis together. He apologizes for prying and making things awkward for her. However, he's also quite pleased that they're judging the webtoons together at the company.

When she finally gets home, Mi-rae receives a call from Ji-yeon. It turns out Da-yeong is making dinner, and they're both invited. In town, Mi-rae bumps into Mr. Min, who's in the midst of setting up a "Boyfriend on Demand" pop-up store. He speaks to Mi-rae about her experiences, and she sidesteps around the questions surrounding her romance and dating Eun-ho. She has a chance to test her theory that "real romance is better than virtual reality," as Da-yeong's dinner takes an interesting turn. She's inviting along a guy to join them.

Although the night goes well, the guy is a bit pushy afterwards towards Mi-rae, constantly asking to meet her again. He claims he just doesn't want to waste any time, but he does come across as desperate. It rubs Mi-rae the wrong way, and eventually, she decides he shouldn't even be walking her home.

That night, in a state of inebriation, Mi-rae mistook Eun-ho for a billboard, igniting a cascade of hilarious moments. This encounter spurred her to take the plunge and subscribe to the premium version of "Boyfriend on Demand," which she reluctantly agreed to at a monthly cost of 500,000 won. Upon donning her headset once more, the interface presented a stark contrast to her previous free subscription. She was greeted with her very own virtual house, teeming with delightful trinkets—from chic dresses to stylish shoes and handbags.

Mi-rae yearned to continue where she had left off with Eun-ho, but encountered a setback. Skipping to her desired boyfriend was a feature exclusive to the premium package, not her current basic one. As it was quite an investment, she opted to make the most of her basic subscription.

Her third date brought her face-to-face with an NIS agent named Bae Hyeon-woo. Posing as a flight attendant, Mi-rae found herself saving a foreign terrorist and immediately immersed herself in the role. This scenario was far more action-packed than she had anticipated, and it was reassuring to see that she wasn't afraid of flying.

These high-stakes scenarios were not exactly what Mi-rae had envisioned, but witnessing her navigate through these comical set pieces, coupled with delightful cameo appearances from prominent K-drama stars, added a delightful touch. They traversed through numerous clichés, ranging from period dramas to medical dramas, and Mi-rae enjoyed rating each encounter. However, her virtual dating experiences spilled over into her office advice, impressing her colleagues with her relentless dating endeavors.

Unfortunately, Mi-rae faced criticism for her poor editing skills when she missed an obvious typo between "bother" and "brother," resulting in the Director reprimanding her. Kyeong-nam even teased her about it in the breakroom.

Not everyone found it amusing, however. Song was absolutely livid, enraged by the online comments poking fun at her. She struggled to maintain her composure. Interestingly, Song discovered a gift waiting for her in her office—it was the "Boyfriend on Demand" headset.

Meanwhile, Mi-rae returned to the virtual world once more and was greeted by an unexpected visitor—Eun-ho! The dating manager had pulled some strings, and this was part 2 of their romance, set ten years after their initial meeting.
