In the sixth episode of "Boyfriend on Demand," Mi-rae's excitement is palpable as she embarks on a journey to meet her perfect match. As she steps onto the fantasy road, she's greeted by Kyeong-nam, a red-haired, leather-jacketed bad boy who holds her dotted scarf in his hand. However, it's revealed that in this reality, Kyeong-nam is known as Yeong-il, and her dating manager isn't changing his appearance on a whim. This is Mi-rae's perfect guy, and there are "no returns allowed."
Mi-rae removes her ring and tries to find a solution. Back in the real world, she's completely stunned by Kyeong-nam's presence. She keeps glancing at him at work, trying to figure out if she's been wrong all along and if she's staring at her ideal man right now.
During their work meeting, Mi-rae takes her time to properly look at Kyeong-nam and finds herself starting to like parts of his physique. However, she realizes that many good men are already in relationships or with other people. Instead of indulging in Kyeong-nam, she decides to try this custom-relationship with Yeong-il. The pair end up at a bar drinking cocktails, where Mr. Ko is the bartender. Yeong-il is a free-spirited guy and precisely what Mi-rae wants - a mix of a bad boy and a nice guy rolled into one.
However, is this really what Mi-rae wants? Back at work, she realizes her heart isn't fluttering when she looks at Kyeong-nam, and she's confident it's because Yeong-il is a very different person.
At work, Kyeong-nam and Mi-rae are called into the Director's office to discuss the appliance commercial that Hwany will be participating in. There's some awkwardness because Mi-rae hasn't told Song about this yet. However, the real reason for bringing these two into his office is that both will be attending the BCF Awards. It's a prestigious webtoon award ceremony, and the Director is confident they'll win something. Yun-song and Hwany will both be attending as they're nominated for awards, which means Kyeong-nam and Mi-rae will be spending more time together.
As Kyeong-nam and Mi-rae exited the office, he implored her not to shy away from him so much, acknowledging that the rejection was just as difficult for him. The award ceremony ensued, and Yun-song triumphantly claimed the Popularity award. Hwany, on the other hand, received the Best Work award for his webtoon, PlanC—a significant accolade that elicited praise and encouragement from Mi-rae. However, Yun-song's resentment bubbled over, perceiving it as a slight against her and Hwany. They clashed outside, and when Mi-rae pushed her, Kyeong-nam was there to catch her—just as fireworks exploded behind them, dashing any hopes for romantic moments.
Throwing curveballs left and right, the celebratory dinner and drinks afterward saw Song confront Hwany, accusing him of not being over her from their previous relationship, alleging that he had been sneaking off to the basement after leaving them. In reality, it was nothing to do with Song, and he was actually interested in her assistant, So-yeong. Song was shocked and embarrassed but claimed she had a boyfriend. Although everyone dismissed it, she actually did have one—Jjong. That night, he called her phone while Mi-rae was taking her home. She picked up, thanking Mi-rae for taking care of her since Song had returned.
Mi-rae, however, was quite drunk and headed to the beach to drink beer. Yeong-il called, inquiring whether they should meet. Mi-rae dismissed the idea but continued talking... precisely when Kyeong-nam stood in front of her. The catch was that Mi-rae thought it was Yeong-il and reached out to touch his face, smiling.
