The seventh episode of Breathless Season 2 kicks off with Pilar's recovery after two grueling days. Quique has taken up residence at Jon's, even when Jon's daughter is present, a development that speaks volumes about their growing intimacy. Unbeknownst to Biel, Nicolas uses his influence to sway Sophie's trial in favor of the accused, threatening to pull funding. Sophie is enraged, and her fury is palpable as Biel soon discovers that all the case files are stored on a hard disk she carries with her at all times.

The hospital board questions Rocio and Blanca in the aftermath of a brain hemorrhage patient's visit to the ER with a visible bruise. Rocio unceremoniously shoves Blanca under the bus, and the nurse is hit with a two-month pay cut. Blanca is devastated, but Rocio promises to make it up to her.
To prevent Pilar from causing any more trouble, Nicolas forces her to resign as director by threatening to cut funding for Oscar's electroshock therapy. Instead, he reinstalls Lluis as director, using his power to drop the investigation at his whim as a means of control. Lluis caves in and pushes the exposé he and Jesica had been working on.
A new CAT scan reveals that Patricia's tumor has indeed shrunk, which brings joy to Moa but also leaves her feeling lost as she is losing the election. He reminds her that it's not a bad thing and that she looks forward to a new life after the loss.
As promised, Healock Pharma sends a new ER doctor, Lucia, a surgeon hailing from Madrid. She defies protocol, chatting loudly and freely. It turns out she is Jesica's former classmate. Both Jesica and Rocio are initially overwhelmed by her frivolous nature, but she quickly proves herself capable in her work and befriends Biel.
During a nearby school explosion that floods the ER with victims, Lucia tries to help with surgeries, only to be chastised by Jesica for not focusing on the ER.
With the pregnant victim nearing the 20th week of gestation and the fetus diagnosed with a heart condition, her silence on ultrasound appointments had left everyone in the dark. Nicolas had steered her and other intricate cases towards a distant hospital, leaving Leo disgruntled. When Leo voiced his displeasure to Luis, the latter pointed out that the new gynecology department was still extending aid to other patients. Moa and Biel enlisted Pilar in their investigation, and her activation of the code red alarm sent the hospital into chaos. As everyone evacuated, Biel slyly returned and made off with most of Sophie's hard drive contents before she could regain access.
Emilio pressed Patricia into giving a statement, accusing the far-right of orchestrating the attack. Faced with hecklers, she delivered a fiery speech, advocating for her efforts to mend things. The new projections indicated that Patricia was poised for a re-election victory, yet her expression was far from joyous.
Turning to the trial investigation, the case files revealed that Sophie's success rate was not the 60% she had been boasting about, but a mere 40%. Pilar's frustration boiled over, determined to call the cops and expose those who continued to make false promises. Biel, unwilling to quash the 40% hope, and Moa suggested delaying action.
After hours, Biel witnessed Jesica attempting to unwind. She raged about Lucia's excesses, and Biel tried to lend a hand with her back. However, things turned heated, and Jesica stopped him midway. He then found Quique and Lucia outside, clearly affected by Rocio and Jesica's disapproval. They agreed to head to an amusement park together, but Quique soon excused himself to indulge in coke. Lucia and Biel enjoyed themselves, eventually exchanging a kiss.
May tried to reconcile Blanca with Rocio, unaware of the true nature of their rift. When Blanca became rude in response, May blamed her for Rocio's addiction. Angered by this misunderstanding, Blanca revealed that Rocio had indeed kidnapped their daughter.
As the episode drew to a close, Pilar made her way to the police station to report Sophie for endangering lives and potentially committing homicide.
