Russ is so shocked that he doesn’t even listen to what the coaches are saying when they arrive at the hotel. To ensure they’ll behave themselves, the players must be in their rooms by 11 pm. Anyone who violates that rule won’t be participating in the game the next day.
When he arrives in his room, Danny finds a store that sells the glue that they need for the prosthetics. Still, no one can see Chad going out of the hotel. So, Russ goes out as himself with Danny to get the glue.
Just as they’re about to enter the elevator, Nishan and his friends meet Danny and Russ, who pretend to be tying his shoes. Sasha, one of the cheerleaders, messes with Danny. So, to get the last laugh, he steals her car keys, finding them a perfect ride.
They get to the store, and someone is already using the last glue in the store. Russ tries to talk to him, and the man turns to him, wearing dog makeup for the game. Then, he starts telling his backstory for doing that and how it’s a way to honour his father. However, that’s exactly the distraction that Danny needed to steal the glue from him.
As soon as they could, they made a hasty retreat, only to discover that someone had shattered the car's window and made off with their belongings. Chad's prosthetics were gone, and although Danny's AirPods were also stolen, to Russ, that was a mere afterthought. But their mind was not on lost property as the dog-man started sprinting towards them. In their haste to reach the car, Russ ended up hurting his hand.
Fortunately, with Danny's AirPods in hand, they could track the thieves. Upon arriving home, to their surprise, they also found a gun tucked away in Sasha's car. Unsure of what lay ahead, Russ took the weapon with him as they cautiously approached the house. As they searched through the thief's garbage, they picked up pieces of Chad's prosthetics scattered on the floor.
Suddenly, the lights in the house turned on, causing the duo to overreact. In a moment of panic, Russ fired the gun by mistake, but thankfully no one was hit. They had no choice but to run to the car and head to the emergency room for Russ's injured hand.
However, in his distress, Russ became brusque and bossy towards Danny, implying that the boy was only helping him because he was nothing without Chad. Hurt and offended, Danny left, leaving Russ alone.
Afterwards, Russ reflected on calling his father for help once again but backed away, determined to solve things on his own. As soon as a nurse left the supply room, he seized the opportunity to enter and grab some bandages. It was a stroke of luck; they even had the type of glue he needed.
Finally, with his hand mostly fixed up, he left the hospital and arrived at the hotel at the last minute. But just as he was about to step into the elevator, Ricky found him.
The girl recognizes him, yet her words are not laden with malice. In fact, she extols his accomplishments, adding that many seasons do not end on a high note. He is so moved that he pretends to recognize her from the viral videos of her tussle with her father. Then, he urges her to speak to him before it's too late, lest she be left with a lingering regret.
He sprints up the stairs to reach his room, only to find Ricky already there, scanning everyone. But Danny saves the day again, donning a wig and impersonating Chad. As he enters the room, Russ expresses gratitude to Danny and bestows upon him the glue. Just as the boy is about to embark on the prosthetics work solo, he suggests that their collaboration would make the task faster. Thus, they manage to mend their ways.
The next day, Ricky apologizes to her father, and they embrace each other, tears streaming down their faces. To make that day even more memorable, they win the game, and Chad dazzles everyone with his impressive plays.
Yet, his career may still be teetering on the brink of peril. As Ricky sleeps soundly on the bus ride home, he inquires about Russ's whereabouts.
