CIA – Season 1 Episode 8 1

Meanwhile, Bill and his fiancée prepare for the day, relentlessly judging their former schoolmates on social media. On their way out, she asks if she can use the car. Bill agrees, stating that he'll use the train anyway. He lies about having to interview a difficult witness in a case.

At the CIA office, Nikki takes a video call from Malcom, a Canadian agent. He questions whether the fallen object belongs to America. Despite Nikki's denial, he doesn't believe her. After the call, she asks Gina to investigate further. The team becomes increasingly concerned that the crater's emission of radiation might be a cause for alarm. Nikki offers to check with her government contacts while Colin tries his luck with the black market.

Nikki meets with her contacts who promptly update her that the mysterious object was a low-earth-orbit satellite. The core was built to withstand a fall, but they don't know which country is responsible for it. Nikki wants to find it. Her contacts promise to look into it.

Colin is surprised by Bill's lies to his fiancée and gives him time to take Katie's call while he secretly leaves a message at a local library to set up a meeting with his black market contact.

As they delve deeper into the investigation of the fallen satellite, their concerns grow. It turns out that the satellite was powered by an enriched cesium core, which is nuclear. Obviously, some countries and crime-affiliated sects would like to get their hands on the battery. They can use the nuclear material to set dirty bombs.

Later that night, Colin's contact, Jonah, broke into his house and spilled the beans about the man who had snatched the battery. His name was Mateo, an Albanian crime lord who controlled smuggling in Eastern Canada. Mateo was desperate to unload the battery for a cool fifty million dollars to the highest bidder, and he was headed straight for New York. Jonah offered to make the introduction. Colin suggested they stage a sting operation, but Nikki was hesitant until Bill came on board. They set up the meeting at a local hotel, with Gina going undercover as a science advisor and Bill posing as Colin's right-hand man.

At the hotel, Gina used her heartbreaker charm to get Mateo's room number and allowed Colin and Bill to install listening devices. Throughout the mission, Colin worried that Gina was out of her depth in the field. After setting everything up, they noticed Jonah was missing. They split up to search for him, and Bill ended up captured too. They brought him to the basement, where they were holding Jonah. A few punches here and there, but Bill refused to reveal who he was working for. The man and his goons left, allowing Jonah and Bill to figure out a plan to escape. They divided their efforts and worked together to loosen the bolts. As they worked, Jonah opened up about why he turned into a dirty cop and how the lies had caught up with him.

He warns Bill that his lies will soon catch up with him. Bill denies that he enjoys the danger this new job brings and argues that he won't have to lie for long. They finally open the vent but realize that there is no way out. At this point, Gina and Colin start to panic since they can't find Bill either. They keep his disappearance from Nikki and call to tell her the new plan. Since Mateo has never met Jonah, Gina plans to pretend to be him. The plan somehow works, but Mateo refuses to sell the battery. He says he is waiting for other interested buyers to make their bid. To make matters worse, the price has gone up.

On their way out, they notice Sasha, a man known for being part of Russian Intelligence. Gina volunteers to distract him at the bar while Colin finds Bill and Jonah. Although Colin is against the idea, Gina insists she can hold her own. She walks up to Sasha and casually flirts with him. Another tech alerts Colin that Bill and Jonah are likely in the basement since the cameras in that area are down. He rushes there to save Bill and Jonah. Upon getting back upstairs, they find that Mateo has died from radiation poisoning.

Simultaneously, Nikki's contact gets back to her. He warns her that the device is unstable and radiation poisoning is the least of their worries. The battery is leaking and will explode soon. She calls her team to warn them, but the problem is that Sasha took the battery and knows Gina is with the CIA. They rush to save Gina before Sasha takes her out of the hotel while the NEST team closes in to save the day.

They corner Sasha's team, secure the battery, and save Gina. Before NEST can arrive, Jonah volunteers to drive the battery to a nearby quarry and dispose of it. He knows it is a suicide mission but insists on doing it. He ends up dying in the quarry when the battery explodes.

Later, Colin praises Gina for doing well on the field mission and conspires about what they should tell Nikki. They obviously can't tell her that Gina was IDed by Sasha. Bill goes home and contemplates Jonah's words as he checks his wounds.
