In the opening of CIA's Episode 9, Abdul Akkad releases a video claiming responsibility for a recent terrorist attack on foreign ships and declares that more attacks are to come. In New York, Colin meets with a woman named Zara, who is there to trade information on the drone attack. Zara promises to give them Abdul Akkad in exchange for a deal and asylum. She is a wealth manager based in Istanbul and believes that one of her clients, the Levni company, is financing Akkad's terrorism. She saw a suspicious transaction, investigated and found links to Akkad. She offers to take Colin as her plus one to Selma Levni's wedding, which is happening that weekend in New York.

CIA – Season 1 Episode 9 1

Meanwhile, Bill visits Kimberly Graham in prison to see what she knows about the Keown mercenaries finding their safe house back when they were working on her case. He gives her a sweet deal, and she reveals that Pyramid Security is behind the breach. This gets Bill going since this is where Colin's secret girlfriend works. He calls Jubal and shares his theory that Colin might be the CIA mole working with his girlfriend. Jubal tells him to find solid evidence before he goes barking up the wrong tree.

Later in the office, the team brings in Larry to brief him on the Akkad information. Larry asks them to follow the lead and see if they can determine Akkad's location. Nikki orders Bill to go undercover at the rehearsal party and have Colin's back. Before going, Colin meets with his secret tech analyst, Kinski, and begs her to quickly work on helping him breach the Pyramid security network. She promises to have an untraceable USB for him by Monday.

At the rehearsal dinner, Zara gives Colin all the dirt on the Levni family. Selma is marrying Ali; they are both big on clean energy. Her brother Nasir is the acting CEO of the company and possibly the one in bed with terrorists. Kerem is the youngest and the black sheep of the family. He is into drugs, women, and other things. Colin decides to try to turn him.

In the interim, Selma engages in light conversation with Bill, casually mentioning that Ali had brought in a chef and had altered their original plans. Their wedding was meant to be a small, intimate affair. Just as the mood shifts to one of celebration with Nasir's interruption and cheers for the couple, he takes a sip of his champagne and suddenly falls to his death. The commotion draws Bill's attention to a suspicious waiter, whom he promptly chases down and captures. However, the waiter provides no useful information.

The toxicology report reveals that Nasir was poisoned with cyanide. Determined to uncover the motive behind Nasir's murder, Colin decides to focus his efforts on Kerem. Meanwhile, Bill devotes his attention to Selma and Ali.

A race against time ensues as Colin and Kerem quickly form a bond and share their knowledge. Colin eventually reveals his true identity as a CIA operative and enlists Kerem's help. When Kerem learns that his brother might have been collaborating with terrorists and that they are all in danger, he agrees to cooperate.

Elsewhere, Selma and Ali struggle to secure Nasir's body for burial. Unfortunately, their efforts are met with frustration, and Bill is unable to assist them. Selma reveals that when Nasir took over the company, it was in a precarious state. He eventually made a deal with the wrong people to stabilize it. Once the company was on solid ground, Nasir wanted out, but was hesitant to do so. Selma convinced him to go ahead with it, and now she believes that whoever Nasir was in business with is responsible for his death.

Despite this new information, the CIA is unable to identify the killer or their motives. They deduce that if Nasir has been eliminated, the Al Sulam must have a replacement ready. They suspect it could be Kerem, given the financial evidence that he paid for the assassination by purchasing a piece of art.

Colin's heart races as he realizes he may have blown his cover, giving Kerem the upper hand. Thankfully, the phone rings, and it's Kerem, setting up a meeting. Colin and Gina enter his room, unsure if they're being played by a CIA agent. Colin spies on Kerem's phone while Gina questions him. Suddenly, Sarah's voice rings through on Colin's phone; her ex is running late, and he can't pick up their son. Colin steps in and calls Kinski after Sarah mentions that Pyramid Security is updating their firewall.

Nikki enlists Bill to keep an eye on Ramzi, the man from whom Kerem bought antique art. Ramzi is shaken and denies any business with Kerem but immediately heads towards the hotel where the Levni family resides. Bill updates Colin on Ramzi's movements, and Colin rushes back to help Gina. They're shocked to see Ramzi going to Ali's room. Zeeb hacks the smart TV in Ali's room, and they learn that Ali was always the puppet in their scheme. He had Nasir killed. Ramzi arranges for Selma and Ali to return to Istanbul to keep Ali safe.

To recruit Ali, they stage a gun shootout at the private airport to make him believe that the Al Sulam are after him. Selma is shocked by her husband's betrayal. Fearing that the Al Sulam are closing in, Ali confesses everything. The CIA makes a deal with Selma and turns her into their asset.

After the case, Bill secretly follows Colin and sees him enter Kinski's building. He calls Jubal and has him run the address, growing concerned that Kinski and Colin are working on hacking the CIA's mainframe network. He confronts Colin when he exits, initially shocked and impressed that Bill has been following him all this time. Colin assures him that he's not the mole and that they should work together. The episode ends with him asking Bill to follow him once more.
