Episode 5 of Citadel Season 2 begins with Mason driving off with Dahlia. Orlick receives updates that Mason has taken Braga to use him as leverage and get Abby back. Meanwhile, Celine and Hutch confess that the real Edison is Ha-joon's wife.

Braga regains consciousness as they drive off and starts banging loudly on the trunk. At a red light, a police officer hears the commotion, and Dahlia kills him. Mason thinks it might have been a mistake to trust her, but Dahlia retorts that Kyle is weak. She prefers Mason to Kyle.
In France, Joanna learns about Braga's disappearance and asks Charlotte to call in every favor and look for him. At the same time, Nadia remembers the vehicle she saw parked outside, while Orlick thinks Mason had help. He uses Frank to call in his connections and find any properties registered under Thomas Kane or Dahlia Archer.
Back at Dahlia's hideout, they get a contact number from Braga, and Dahlia steps out to make the call. Left alone, Braga tries to recruit Mason to work together and create a better world for their children, but Mason is not interested.
While Orlick and Nadia argue over who messed up more with Mason, Dahlia calls Joanna and makes the exchange deal. Back at the house, she tasks Mason with getting rid of the car they used and stealing another one for transport.
Left alone with Braga, Dahlia explains that she put a hit on Mason because he knew who she was, and her identity could not then be compromised. She is helping him get Abby back to make amends, but she is still open to hearing what Braga has to offer.
Meanwhile, Frank finally gets someone to remember his name and help him track the vehicle Mason and Dahlia drove out with, and they get a lead on where it was last seen.
Back at Dahlia's house, she makes Mason his father's favorite meal, and they talk about love. Dahlia says that despite his father's shortcomings, he was the love of her life. Meanwhile, Mason is risking the life of the woman he loves, Nadia, to save the woman he married. He insists that he loves Abby, and more importantly, she is his wife. Just then, Mason realizes that Dahlia might be trying to mess with him because of the deal she made with Braga. She admits that talks were had, but an agreement was not reached.
Elsewhere, Aparna takes Edison to France while Joanna leaves with Abby to make the exchange. Simultaneously, Orlick and the team are rushing to Dahlia's house.
As Dahlia steps out to finalize the deal with Joanna, Braga attempts to sway Mason once more, this time through guilt-tripping by discussing how his father would be disheartened by the thousands of lives he took in his quest for vengeance. He asserts that Mason dislikes his true self, which is why he became a spy—to escape his genuine identity. Just as Braga dreams of choking his father in his sleep, Asha and Hendrix will bear the shame of being his daughters, wishing they could strangle him to death. Mason snaps and kills Braga on the spot.
In the meantime, Orlick, Frank, and Nadia arrive at Dahlia's house, but it's too late. Mason and Dahlia have departed for the exchange, and Braga's lifeless body lies hidden in a closet. With Braga gone, Mason dons his persona and programs a voice-changing device to mimic his voice. They shift the exchange location to a dark subway station. The transaction proceeds smoothly, with Joanna unaware she's being deceived. As soon as she removes her hood, Mason attacks, neutralizing the security, but Joanna manages to flee. Dahlia doesn't drive away, and Mason catches up to them in the car.
At the episode's conclusion, Mason checks on Abby after one of Joanna's security guards fires at their vehicle. He calls her Abby, and she queries if he means Celeste.
