Episode 6 of Cross season 2 begins with Alex Cross, in a cast and banged up, catching up with John. The two of them trade recaps of what happened in the previous episode. John's potential witness that could clear LaDonna and Bobby Trey's interception that saved Cross' life are both discussed.

After Rebecca's murderous rampage, Cross starts to empathize with her. John reminds him that she's a mass murderer who has set her sights on Lance Durand next, who's currently throwing cash around at a party.
In the morning, Kayla gives Cross her "I told you so" speech as they catch up at the station. He brings up her connection to Trey and how dangerous it is to be working with a psycho. The irony, of course, being that Cross was literally singing the praises of a separate psycho just five minutes ago. The irony is strong with this one.
Roy and the others chew out Cross for his recklessness in the case, and in fact, Roy wants to get rid of him completely. Chief Anderson intervenes though and Cross is able to stick around for the time being. Agent Goff shows up in the locker room after and after singing his praises brings up the connection with Senator Ashford and Crestbrook.
Cross shows up to see the Senator next and knows that Rebecca was there. He knows about her mum too, of course, and they cut the BS and get right down to brass tacks. Ashford has been trying to honour his mum's memory since her death, getting into law to make her proud and living off her inheritance.
Everybody in the picture that Rebecca took has gotten rich off this money, which he's now realized is tainted with the blood and sweat of innocent children and migrants. Cross checks over the documents in his office and has a search run on several names, including Jelani Amadou. Now, Jelani is actually part of this and connected to Lance as his best friend. The other names all connect as defendants in Gabriela's lawsuit against Crestbrook. There's also some crossover with Lincoln's documents too, and of course these guys are being killed off one by one.
With these documents in hand, Alex Cross and the detectives now possess a kill-list, but its order remains a mystery. Cross, for now, hasn't grasped the full extent of it, so the police are approaching anyone with any connection to the list and issuing warnings.
Cross arrives unaccompanied to confront Jelani and Lance. While Jelani grows spooked upon hearing the news, Lance remains arrogant and boasts that they'll be fine.
Meanwhile, Kayla arrives to see Felicia, only to find Bobby Trey there. He knocks her out and ties her to a chair inside a shipping container for interrogation. She boasts about how Kayla was culpable in Operation: Bad Religion, including the soldiers' drug-induced experimentation. Kayla was the one who selected the soldiers and wrote their profiles for the mission, which the Mastermind knew about. Bobby watches from the car, angered by his own military background. Felicia is choked by Kayla until she finally leaves and talks Bobby down from lashing out further. They still need the location of the footage, and killing Felicia won't solve anything.
Kayla spooks Felicia by deciding to inject her with the same drugs they used on the soldiers. While inserting the IV, Felicia suddenly blurts out that the footage is stored securely 30 floors below her boss's office.
Detective Vega arrives to see Milo in the midst of this chaos and discovers that he's been shot. Not by John, who's also here holding him at gunpoint. Apparently, he was doing business with someone called "Night Train," but things got out of hand quickly.
With this name, John shows up to see LaDonna, who has apparently never heard of him. John starts to soften a little, showing off family photos to his mother. He doesn't fully relax though, eventually switching the picture over to this Night Train fella, whose real name is Tyson Knight, aka T.K.
Returning to the story of Alex Cross, he discovers that Rebecca's kill-list is her way of eliminating the demons from her mother's lawsuit to "save her people." It's a very specific pattern, and she's killing them in the order of the story. If they can figure out the plot beats, they may be able to save whoever is next. For now, it's onto Jelani's wedding, who's visibly nervous and thinks he's about to die. He's filled with remorse and guilt over what they've done in the past.
As Cross and his team work out the Kill List order, Jelani's wedding gets underway with a flamboyant display that includes dancers and loud music. Kayla and Cross show up, but Agent Goff is also here, explaining that Director Hammett has given strict orders to make sure the two are barred from the event. The thing is, they've got the list wrong, and it's not Lance Durand who's next – it's Jelani.
Just like that, Jelani's throat is cut by one of the dancers (Rebecca in disguise who slipped by all the security somehow) and it happens quickly as a flash. Donnie is out in the woods and fires a warning shot to displace everybody, making sure Rebecca gets a clean getaway while leaving the place in chaos. Cross and Kayla show up in time to see Rebecca leave, while Jelani is a bloody mess.
The scene is tense and chaotic, with everyone in a state of shock and confusion. The wedding guests are scattered, and the music has been silenced by the sudden violence. The only sound that can be heard is the echo of Donnie's warning shot ringing through the air. The atmosphere is filled with tension as Cross and Kayla race against time to uncover the next victim on Rebecca's list.
