Cross – Season 2 Episode 7

Published: Mar 13 2026

In the seventh episode of Cross season 2, the story unfolds with Roy confronting Kayla and congratulating her for acquiring the video footage. His confidence stems from the belief that Bad Religion will now become a distant, faded memory. However, this seemingly genuine praise was actually a test of her resolve, a means for Roy to gauge her commitment. When she passes this "test," he offers her the promotion to become the new assistant director in charge. Kayla, uninterested in the promotion, opts instead to go after Mastermind. In a moment of revelation, she realizes that Margaret is the mastermind behind everything and that she faked her death during that call. Kayla calls Trey and gives him one more job, promising that he'll enjoy this one.

Cross – Season 2 Episode 7 1

Meanwhile, Donnie realizes that the feds are closing in on their location and warns Clare and Luz (Rebecca). They hastily pack their things and leave, but the FBI shows up in full force and finds the place empty. Along with Jelani's fingers inside a black bag, they also discover a picture of the group Rebecca is hunting and a card that reads "For Nuri."

As Rebecca and Donnie continue to evade capture, Cross and his team are getting closer. They've secured images of the sniper's truck and license plate, and they know there are four remaining targets on the hit list: Nuri, Griffith, Nat, and Lance Durand. The police have taken them to Camp Harrison Army base for their safety. If Rebecca wants them, she'll have to go through the army first.

The four individuals aren't exactly friends and clash over their past with Gabriela. They've each received a text message demanding payment of 20 million or else. Nuri is next on the list, but Lance is confident they can just sit tight in this safehouse and wait for the authorities to take Rebecca out. One of the four is going to receive a message from Rebecca at 4pm, and she's obviously going to want an answer regarding the ransom. Nuri almost confesses her role in all this when Cross and Kayla question them, but Lance shuts her down and decides to keep everything tightly locked away.

In this episode, we see the characters navigating complex web of deceit and betrayal as they each struggle to stay one step ahead of the authorities and their own personal demons. The tension is palpable as we wait to see who will be the next to fall prey to Rebecca's plans.

Despite Kayla's evident distress, Chief Anderson has entrusted the entire investigation to Cross. This transfer of authority doesn't sit well with Kayla, who resents having to defer to him and feels like her position has been undermined. The tension between them is palpable.

As the afternoon advances, Lance's phone rings first. Rebecca quickly wins over Nuri, who agrees to pay up. However, the others are unyielding, and Rebecca decides to take drastic action. She activates the device she had earlier obtained from Nuri's nurse, disabling the signal on her pacemaker. Cross tries to intervene but it's too late. Nuri collapses on the ground and is pronounced dead.

Next up is Griffith, and after what happened to Nuri, everyone decides to return home. He agrees to the deal and pays her 20 million. He meets with her in person before calling Lance to inform him of the agreement.

Meanwhile, John confronts Regina about keeping the truth about his mother from him. He admits that he used to be envious of the children who would send cards to their mothers in prison, and he didn't have that luxury.

Regina counters, pointing out that his mother only got close when she wanted money and it would have been devastating for him to experience that constant heartbreak. John isn't convinced, telling her that he's worked hard to prove himself while in her care. Now knowing that his mother is alive is a harsh blow, and it's a difficult pill to swallow. He eventually leaves and returns to the station, diving deeper into the case.

Word has it that Tyson Knight (TK) moved in with LaDonna a year ago. The landlord there has confirmed that he's been in and out of her house for years. It turns out they were an item all along, and LaDonna lied to John the entire time.

John confronts his mother after hearing this news. LaDonna admits to the connection (in a roundabout way) and regrets her past behavior. Right now, however, she'll take any moment he gives her to try and make amends.

The issue is that she's willing to aid and abet TK, but John is confident he can get her out of this mess. However, it means testifying against TK. LaDonna refuses, deciding to confess herself to keep him out of trouble.

When Lance heads over to see Griff, we're shocked to see that the entire conversation is being recorded by Rebecca, who's listening in remotely. Griffith admits that he co-signed on the child labor scheme and that he's had a good life, but he knows when he's beat. Lance refuses outright, until Griffith plays his last card. It turns out he recorded an incriminating conversation when Gabriela turned down their money. His brother, Alan, also has a copy with instructions on how to distribute it should anything happen to him.

Lance is furious and decides to do Rebecca's job for her, beating Griffith to a bloody pulp and ultimately killing him. He phones through to Nat and warns about the audio, knowing they need to go after Alan. Rebecca has the same idea, believing they can prove the whole conspiracy if they get it. However, Donnie volunteers to go himself.

While they head out, Cross heads over to Griffith's place, where he realizes that Rebecca didn't kill the guy. The severed fingers aren't surgical cuts, and Cross quickly realizes this is a framing. It doesn't take long for him and Kayla to find the connection to Alan.

Donnie is already there, desperate for the recording. John, Alex, and Kayla arrive just as he's leaving with the recording, and a chase ensues. Donnie manages to get away but is shot. He shows the recording to Clare, who shoots him dead and drives off.

As the episode closes out, Bobby Trey catches up to Margaret and holds her at gunpoint. The scene is tense and filled with suspense, leaving us wondering what will happen next.
