Deadloch – Season 2 Episode 3 1

At the station, the group - now consisting of Dulcie, Eddie, Leo, and Abby (Big Eyes) - investigates the crime scenes and gathers information about the man dressed in the Croc Suit (Chomp). Jason's alibi seems unassailable, but Leo has another theory. They speak to Flora, the singer from the pub who also works at Land of Crocs. According to her, staff rotate being Chomp due to occupational health and safety regulations. This means they need to review the staff who worked that day to determine who it could be. However, there are 60 staff members, so they need to work quickly.

Abby also examines the foot and believes it was severed by a motorized blade rather than a knife. Soon, Leo manages to narrow down the suspect list to most of Wade's boys and a few other stray employees. The Boys aren't the brightest tools in the shed, and they all confirm each other's alibis of filming one of Wade's specials.

In the midst of this investigation, Eddie and Dulcie get a lucky break when another body part washes up. It's Don's lower pelvic region, but it's found in Stonker's territory, which is curiously 30km upstream. Abby calls while she's with Frank, confirming that she's found oil residue in the water too. This means the boat used to take out Don is faulty and may have a broken engine.

The investigation continues as the group works tirelessly to uncover the truth behind these mysterious incidents and bring the culprit to justice. The tension and suspense build as they narrow down their suspect list and piece together the clues.

Leo promptly reaches out to Eddie, bringing up the fact that three employees are unaccounted for the night of Don's demise. One of these individuals is Steven Houlihan, a former employee of Don, who goes by the nickname "Spud." However, Dulcie quickly dismisses him as a suspect due to his height, ruling out the possibility that he could be the Chomp costume wearer.

Back at the station, Leo also reveals a fascinating detail: Jason and Don's land holdings don't actually align, with a piece of land called the DRR - Dirk's River Reserve situated between them. It seems that Don lodged a challenge to acquire this strip of land, which puts him in a land dispute with the Dungalaba Corporation, and not Jason Wade. Given that all the body parts have been found in various regions of the river, Eddie realizes that whoever is responsible must have a thorough understanding of the land and the crocodile.

Meanwhile, Dulcie and Eddie question another suspect, Al, who is also a possible Chomp costume wearer. His boat is damaged after he accidentally put dog biscuits in the fuel tank. However, he claims that he helped Don Darrell out of the river and left him alive at the jetty. Given his familiarity with the river, Al knows it's not a good time to dispose of a body in the water since the crocodile have plenty of other prey to feed on.

That night, when the Superintendent calls, he informs Dulcie that Redcliffe directed Sergeant Ferguson to conduct a search of a certain premises. When Dulcie learns of this, she confronts Eddie, who confesses that she had her father arrested six months ago for poaching wild鳄鱼and selling their meat on the black market. Dulcie initially thinks this is irrelevant until she returns to the freezer and finds it empty. Eddie becomes convinced that this is all about Frank and goes to his place with Ferguson to conduct a search.

Frank insists that this is all a setup and that he's being framed, but unfortunately, they find a chainsaw buried on his property. That's not all - Dulcie discovers a pistol in the river junk (courtesy of Leo's investigative work) belonging to none other than Michael Bushman. Could it be that Bushy didn't kill himself after all?
