The third installment of "Debris" unfolds in Ohio, where an engineer finds himself mesmerized by an enigmatic, translucent barrier towering above him. This shimmering, grey veil abruptly manifests an array of shadowy figures, pressing ominously against its surface as if yearning to break free.
At Langley, Bryan undergoes a CT scan, revealing that the radiation exposure from the previous episode has left him unscathed. He inquires about George Jones with Craig and ponders whether it's wise to return Finola to their homeland. This notion is swiftly dismissed.
Embarking on a flight with Finola, they arrive at the scene of yet another inexplicable phenomenon, devoid of any debris in sight. The duo decides to split up, with Finola and Bryan choosing to forgo hazmat suits unlike most authorities present.
An unsettling twist arises when an otherworldly voice echoes, saying "hello" and inquiring about the light. Finola believes establishing contact with this entity is imperative and endeavors to devise a plan. However, her intentions are abruptly halted as "The Square" reappears, offering a conduit for communication.
Through this portal, Finola engages with the figure within, who reveals herself as Nicole Hegman, a genuine missing person since 2019. What ties her to this square? Before Finola can pose the question, the screen vanishes once more.
Bryan speculates that this could serve as a nexus for lost souls. Together, they watch an archival video featuring Finola's father, delving into the realms of dimensions and access points. They grapple with the possibility of a connection.
The subsequent day, Finola and Bryan enlist Nicole's father, Richard Hegman, into their quest. Confronting him, they inquire about the events surrounding Nicole's disappearance, setting the stage for deeper revelations.
Upon hearing his narrative, Bryan concedes that the situation bears an eerie resemblance to the Bermuda Triangle—a comparison woefully misguided, given that nearly every anomaly within that enigmatic region can be rationalized by human error, magnetic anomalies, or tempestuous weather. Nevertheless, I stray from the main thread: Bryan and Finola play the audio recording for Richard, who confesses to being haunted by recurrent dreams featuring her. As he approaches the Square, Nicole initiates a conversation with her father, an exchange cut short when, after affirming his love for her, the Square vanishes once more.
Embarking on their quest, the group uncovers a substantial fragment of debris but little else. Rather than removing it, they opt to reposition it nearer the Square, hoping to amplify its occurrences. Miraculously, this strategy proves fruitful, revealing the captive figures of the missing souls. Donning hazmat suits, the team now has visual access to Nicole, still imprisoned within. With the aid of additional debris fragments, they successfully retrieve all the other lost individuals, who fortunately adhere to social distancing measures upon their return. However, these rescued men and women hail from diverse eras, sparking numerous inquiries into the mechanics of this phenomenon. Once everyone is safe, the Square disappears again.
Back at Langley, Craig indulges in a peculiar game of catch with his chair, hurling it through a debris shard and positioning another behind him to sustain this bizarre loop. Seated once more in the very chair, he discovers that the discovered corpse is not George Jones but someone entirely different.
