As the seventh episode of "Down Cemetery Road" unfolds, all roads converge on Dinah's destination, painting a picture of a swift and decisive reunion between Downey and Dinah, who greets him as Uncle Mike, their embrace filled with emotion. As Downey takes a moment to catch his breath and pop a few pills, Dinah shows him the blue teddy bear Amos had given her, revealing a moment of truth-seeking as he realizes there may be a tracker within and leaves it behind in their hasty escape.
Meanwhile, Amos closes in on the base, creating a tense situation as Downey, Steph, and Dinah scramble to avoid him. In a separate thread, Janice calls DI Varma to update him on the military cover-up, following Zoe's instructions to reach out if she didn't make it home. With Zoe currently adrift in the middle of the sea, Janice has an envelope of evidence detailing C's experiments, which she hands over to Talia for confrontation. However, C maintains a poker face, refusing to reveal anything.
As the story shifts, Zoe and Sarah are lost at sea, their journey marked by a compass that fails and an engine that stalls due to running out of fuel. In a stroke of luck, they find a can of fuel in the hold, and the Captain, with a grudge against the English, eventually relents and hands it over. The Scot takes the helm and guides them in the right direction.
Their reunion with Downey and Dinah is short-lived, however, as Amos arrives, determined to find them in one of the nearby houses but unsure which one. His wild spray of bullets proves deadly, and Steph is tragically killed.
Downey's plan to lure Amos away while the others made a dash for safety proved disastrous when Amos swiftly gained the upper hand, ultimately ending the confrontation with a fatal stab to Downey's neck, watching him slowly bleed out.
With Downey out of the way, Amos roared up on his quad bike and swiftly caught up with the others. Zoe, determined to thwart Amos's pursuit, elected to take a leap of bravery, diving headfirst into the water from the cliffs' summit. Sarah and Dinah, meanwhile, headed towards the inflatable, their leap of faith a testament to their resolve.
As Amos relentlessly pursued Zoe, firing shots in her direction, she managed to evade him by hiding behind some rocky outcroppings on the beach. Her escape was not without peril, however, as Amos's stray bullet caused an explosion near her landing spot, sending her sprawling.
Seeing Sarah and Dinah on the inflatable, Zoe sprinted towards them, but Amos's machinations were far from over. He turned his attention to them after blowing up a mine close to Zoe's location, sending a ripple of fear through the group. Sarah and Dinah raced away, their escape a harbinger of things to come.
