Euphoria – Season 3 Episode 2 1

Fast forward to the pandemic, and Maddy was paid by her company to stay home. However, she chose to skirt the COVID rules by taking photos of a woman on the beach named Katelyn. Maddy eventually became Katelyn's manager, encouraging her to be more provocative over time and selling her to eager fans.

Maddy's boss was not pleased when she found out, especially when Katelyn started flirting with the hotshot star, Dylan Reid. Maddy had no choice but to let Katelyn go, risking her own job.

A year later, Katelyn struck gold on OnlyFans and convinced others to follow her lead. This realization eats at Maddy, who thinks that if she had taken a gamble and ditched her assistant job, she could have made a tidy commission.

Not long after, Maddy receives a message from Cassie asking for lunch. Maddy smiles, her intentions at this point unclear.

Back in the present, Alamo is still wary of Rue but, for the time being, she's allowed to prove her worth. She's forced to clean out the pig sties and cover up Tish's death by burning the evidence.

Alamo calls Laurie and confronts her about the tainted drugs, but she plays dumb, pretending innocence. In reality, Wayne had forgotten to tell Faye to clean the scale, and unfortunately, that residue mixed with the ecstasy, causing the taint.

With one of his girls gone, Alamo announces that he's taking Rue - and Laurie is pissed. However, Rue convinces herself that she's made a deal with the devil but seems free for the time being.

With $300 in her pocket, Rue ventures out to a strip club called The Silver Slipper, where she believes her fortunes might take a turn for the better. The club she's taken to is the same one where Tish used to work, and there are pictures of the girl adorning the dressing room walls. It's later revealed that Tish's best friend, Angel, is one of the top performers here. After work, Angel and Rue connect, but Rue still pines for her muse, Jules.

A few years ago, Rue visited Jules in the city while she was in art school and struggling with her own demons. It never quite felt like the good old days in high school, and Rue's relapse was severe. Cut off from her family and forbidden from seeing Gia, Rue hasn't been sober since then.

Alamo is furious that Angel is standing up to him, while Rue stumbles upon a hidden safe in the back room. This is where all the money is stashed, and it'll be interesting to see if Rue is tempted to steal it.

Meanwhile, Maddy is back in the spotlight after receiving a DM from Cassie. She knows that she can work with Maddy, but there's still bad blood between them, and the fact that Cas is with Nate is a major sticking point. Maddy agrees to meet her, and does so by putting on a big show. She waits for Cassie, then makes a grand entrance, turning heads and pretending to be on an important call.

After a few drinks and avoiding the real reason for this meeting, Cassie and Maddy get down to brass tacks. Maddy sees Cassie's social media as a bit try-hard, especially the dog act. She thinks she should be herself and lean into her personality instead.

Back home, things are about to get a little wild. The last time we saw Cal, Nate called the cops on him and he was taken away in handcuffs. However, he narrowly avoided prison. His reputation is in tatters, and he's gone from being the town's top real estate developer to a sexual deviant, marked with a scarlet letter for the rest of his life.

The business isn't doing too hot either, and Nate owes a lot of money to various partners and investors. One guy in particular isn't messing around and tells Nate he owes 600k by the end of the month. This Cassie situation isn't helping matters, and Cal is shocked to learn that Nate is about to open up another round of talks with investors.

Unfortunately, the party that night doesn't go to plan. Talk of Cassie's OnlyFans spreads and it spills over into an awkward encounter where Cass makes it clear that Nate has money issues in front of others, despite his smooth talking. With the party a bust, Nate is concerned to learn that Cassie and Maddy are getting closer. He thinks this is revenge but Cass quickly points out that Maddy is a social media expert and simply helping her brand... but does Maddy have an ulterior motive here?

Back at The Silver Slipper, Rue speaks to Angel and reveals that Tish has died of an overdose. Hearing this news, Angel begins to spiral and eventually needs rehab. Alamo promises another promotion for Rue if she follows through with this so Rue drives Angel up to rehab that night.

The place is shady and she's definitely concerned, especially when there's no paperwork to fill out. In fact, between the "receptionist" with dirty fingernails and the dark, ominous hallways, it's implied that this is a front for trafficking.

That's when things only get more intense as an ambulance pulls up just as Rue is leaving. As the camera pans across the street, we see someone sitting in their car, watching. In the midst of all this chaos, Rue unexpectedly meets Jules in the city and confesses that she's steering clear of hard drugs. She indulges in a little alcohol and weed, but avoids anything that could destroy her life. Jules does have a boyfriend, but he's currently at home with his family. Eventually, Jules heads off to take a bath and invites Rue to join her, despite knowing it's not good for either of them. That night, Alamo sends a message to Laurie. He drops off a massive pig in Laurie's house with a message that simply reads "Remember the Alamo".
