Filing For Love – K-Drama Episode 5 1

Ki-jun heads home and takes a long shower, causing even A-jeong to worry. He asks her if it is normal to suddenly feel attracted to a person you have known for a while, and she says it is. The following morning, Jae-yeol visits his mom, trying to convince her to take her medicine so that she can avoid being returned to the psychiatric ward. His dad calls to scold him about the James scandal. He calls A-jeong and asks her to keep an eye on I-na.

A-jeong runs into I-na on the elevator and invites her for drinks, just the two of them. I-na finds it odd and turns her down, but A-jeong insists that she would be surprised to learn how much they have in common.

Meanwhile, I-na tries to act as if nothing had happened, only for Ki-jun to ask to talk. They end up arguing over who kissed whom. In the end, I-na apologizes, saying it was a mistake. She blames the ambiance, and Ki-jun is hurt but goes with it. However, he tells her that it is rude to apologize like that.

At the office, Hyun-kyu reads the horoscopes of his colleagues. He warns Gwang-II that, according to his horoscope, he should avoid the boss. They all worry about Ki-jun since it seems like he is still in I-na's bad book.

Elsewhere, we meet Min-woo, one of Haemu's top salespeople in the cosmetic department. He is at his wedding, but a female client causes a commotion. After the wedding, Ki-jun and Sung-tae interview Min-woo, and he insists that he never crossed the line with Yoo-na. He claims he only flirted with her a little bit to get her to buy more cosmetic stuff.

Yoo-na, on the other hand, accuses him of being considerate, leading her to think there is something between them. She shows them the messages between them, and it turns out that Min-woo texts all the clients in such a sweet manner.

Anyway, Min-woo explains every situation she brings up, including a weekend movie date. The turning point comes when Yoo-na reveals that they kissed. Min-woo claims they didn't.

Ki-jun reports to I-na that the case has an ambiguous conclusion since Yoo-na and Min-woo interpreted the kiss in two different ways. She orders him to find out more because a kiss can also be interpreted as sexual harassment. If Min-woo forgot about it, then it would be rude to the client. Ki-jun teases her by pointing out how she acted after their kiss.

They visit the place where Yoo-na claimed the kiss happened, and Ki-jun hysterically acts out Yoo-na's statement. Unfortunately, the CCTV cameras in the area are fake. They track down a chicken seller and ask to see if he has footage from the day of the incident. Well, it turns out that Yoo-na and Min-woo kissed!

Meanwhile, Jae-yeol goes golfing with a friend to find out more about what happened at a recent DOJ meeting. His friend asks if he is having an affair with A-jeong. He finds Jae-yeol's patience with his wife odd.

As they delved into the case, I-na kept receiving calls from an unfamiliar number, which she claimed was a misdialed one. Ki-jun found this odd but didn't pry into her business. Later, Jae-yeol's driver had a family emergency, and Jae-yeol offered to drop A-jeong off at home. He ended up discovering that she lived with Ki-jun.

During the interview meeting, Min-woo claimed that he was too drunk to remember their encounter. Later, he insisted that the kiss meant nothing. Yoo-na was offended and asked how that could be. Ki-jun found himself aligning with her perspective.

At a team meeting convened to help Ki-jun and I-na mend their relationship, the team debated whether kissing implied dating. Some were against it, while others believed it was absurd to read too much into a kiss. I-na arrived and asked to change the subject, even though they wanted her input.

After dinner, Gwang-II asked Ki-jun to help I-na get a cab. Ki-jun seized the opportunity to inquire about her feelings for him. She explained that she didn't hate him as his colleagues thought. He wasn't satisfied with her answer and tried to find out more. Meanwhile, she ended a call from the same anonymous number she had noticed earlier.

To get an answer, he joined her in the cab and asked her to give them a chance to explore their chemistry. She was hesitant, and he asked why she was pushing him away. As they talked, I-na's dad appeared outside her place.

Ki-jun went to the convenience store across the street to give them time to talk. I-na sent her dad away since he had never been there for her. As she walked away, the man fainted.

They took him to the hospital and learned that he had a brain tumor. He had snuck out during treatment to find I-na. The doctors also told her that he was behind on his payments, and no one had come to see him. I-na was surprised since she knew that he had a family.

Walking down the streets once again, Min-woo exits a bar with his friends, only to witness his wife embracing another man as they make their way home. Enraged, Min-woo nearly assaults the man, but the police intervene, preventing a second attack.

At the police station, Min-woo is unable to calm down as his wife explains that it was just a drunken kiss with a colleague. The police once again step in to stop Min-woo from causing further harm.

After dropping her father off at the hospital, I-na and Ki-jun stop by a tranquil bar for a heart-to-heart conversation. He shares his story of being raised by his single mother and aunts following his father's death. His mother was harsh on him, often beating him for crying. He understands the reasons behind her actions and confesses that he still sleeps with a stuffed animal, which his mother would deem unmanly.

She, in turn, tells her own story. Her mother had an affair with a married man who refused to acknowledge I-na or help raise her. He even warned I-na's mother against showing up near him when she tried to introduce them. Word eventually got out, and bullies targeted both I-na and her mother until they moved to another town when she enrolled in college. I-na thought college would be a fresh start for them, but she was disappointed to discover that her mother was a nude model for a local art studio.

Unable to comprehend how her mother could feel free doing nude modeling, I-na cut ties with her. Her mother later died in an accident while trying to find and apologize to her. Following her death, I-na took up the modeling job in her mother's honor and finally understood what she meant.

Ki-jun is moved to tears by her story and wishes she could live happily moving forward. He tells her that despite acting tough, she is actually soft and prone to fainting. She struggles to get him home, carrying him all the way to his apartment. She is shocked when A-jeong opens the door.
