As Jim and Ethan head to the diner, Jim breaks down in the bathroom, leaving Ethan alone with Victor. Victor sits with Ethan, sharing with him that the trees have inexplicably shifted four inches closer. He reveals the drawing he made of the boy in the woods, but when Jim finds them, his anger flares, threatening Victor in full view of the diner's patrons.

Kenny reunites with Jade at the cellar and reveals to him the macabre scene he thought he witnessed the previous day. Julie confesses to Fatima that she may have made a grave mistake. Tabitha stops by, attempting to coax Julie back, but Julie remains undecided.

Kenny shows Jade a map, tracing the origins of all those trapped in the town. Outside, Jim and Tabitha's argument escalates, while Ethan sneaks away with Victor, determined to find the enigmatic boy in white. Boyd, meanwhile, rebuilds the box, only to be visited by Father Khatri, who admonishes him for punishing himself.

Deep in the woods, Victor recounts to Ethan that he saw the boy in white before two cars simultaneously arrived in the town. As they catch sight of the boy, they playfully drop rocks down a tree adorned with a smiley face, only to have the rocks mysteriously return. However, Victor is jolted from his tranquility by the barking of a dog.

Jim and Tabitha are surrounded by a pack of dogs in the woods, but Victor heroically scares them off with gunshots. A flashback reveals a young Victor standing amidst the town, surrounded by corpses, as he encounters the boy in white and the barking dog. In the present, Victor's drawings serve as a testament to his harrowing experiences.

Jim seeks Boyd's assistance in speaking to Victor and Donna about Victor's interactions with Ethan. Fatima makes room for Julie in her and Ellis's bedroom, offering her a place of refuge. Boyd joins the Matthews for dinner at the diner, where Sara's arm is mysteriously marked with the chilling command, "kill the boy," and she falls into a seizure. Victor, unsettled by the events, begins digging graves, muttering that he's getting a headstart this time.
