Julie, in pursuit of Jim, dashed back to the town, with Ellis relentlessly trailing her. Jim, upon reaching the basement, found the hole leading underground obstructed by debris, and Tabitha's absence sent a chill through him. Below the surface, Tabitha and Victor crept through the labyrinth of tunnels, Victor cautioning silence as the slumbering monsters stirred.

The bus halted in front of the diner, its driver intent on a quick cleanup. As the driver busied herself, a nurse passenger examined the groggy Elgin. Eventually, Ellis and Tom found Julie and her companions, instructing them to stay put until they could secure entry into the diner's safety.

Julie discovered Jim trapped in the basement, pleading for her to seek assistance. She turned to Tom, who along with two bus passengers, ventured into the basement to aid Jim in clearing the debris. Shortly thereafter, Donna and Kenny arrived, evacuating the passengers to the diner's refuge.

From the structure's narrow opening, a voice echoed, instructing Boyd to climb. A rope was hastily thrown down, offering a means of escape. Jade, still preoccupied with the enigmatic symbol and the haunting mannequin, delved deeper into Victor's room in search of clues.

Victor's heart raced in the tunnel, his steps faltering upon encountering the same mannequin that Jade had hallucinated. Tabitha firmly guided him onward, their urgency heightened by the stirring of the slumbering monsters.

Donna attempted to warn the bus driver of the town's perils, but her words fell on deaf ears. Suddenly, Elgin was wracked by a seizure, and as Jim's house crumbled, the four men were buried beneath the rubble. Victor and Tabitha fled the tunnels, racing into the woods as the monsters began to awaken.

Kristi was reunited with the nurse on the bus, their familiar faces bringing a fleeting sense of comfort. Jim instructed Julie and Donna to leave them buried beneath the rubble for the night, and they complied, covering the debris with tarps. As the bus driver struggled to gather her passengers, chaos erupted as Donna fired a shot at the bus tire, and Kenny attempted to restore order with a warning shot into the air.

Boyd emerged from the wreckage, finding himself in a cave where an elderly man was chained to the wall, a grim sight that foreshadowed the night's unfolding horrors.
