Furies – Season 1 Episode 7

Published: May 31 2024

Episode 7 of Furies opens with a chilling sight: a police van overturned, its occupants lifeless, slain by a hail of bullets. Amidst this carnage, our captive Furies remain defiant, alongside Keita and Elie, unwilling to surrender without a fight.

Under Keita's resolute leadership, they flee to a secluded cafe nestled in the woods, using it as a makeshift fortress to evade the relentless pursuit. She hastily scribbles a note, entrusting it to the cafe owner and urging him to pedal his bike thirty miles to the police station and alert them to the unfolding drama. Surely, in this day and age, he must possess a phone? But there's no time to dwell on such trifles. The man mounts his bike and rushes off.

Furies – Season 1 Episode 7 1

Keita surveys the cafe, her eyes scanning for any weaknesses in their makeshift fortress. Meanwhile, Driss attempts to arm himself with a fork, intent on fighting his way out. Lyna intervenes, gently disarming him, pointing out the folly of such a weapon against armed assailants. Unfortunately, their refuge is not as secure as they hoped. The radio crackles to life, revealing that Parques' men and women have tracked them here and are closing in for the kill.

Selma, Driss, and Lyna are shackled downstairs, helpless in the face of the looming threat. It's a risky move, pitting Elie and Keita against a dozen or more of Parques' henchmen. Driss whispers urgently to Lyna, urging her to join him in freeing themselves from their bonds. She nods, and together they work to loosen the flimsy handcuffs that bind her.

Suddenly, the cacophony of gunfire erupts upstairs, shattering the tense silence. Downstairs, Driss and Lyna struggle to revive the unconscious Selma, their hearts racing. Lyna manages to unlock the handcuffs, just as Keita's cries of pain echo down from above - she's been hit. Driss frees himself from his restraints, assisted by the groggy Selma, and raises his gun, pointing it at the advancing men of Parques - including Orso, who appears from the shadows.

But their standoff is short-lived. A hail of bullets tears through the open air, mowing down Parques' men one by one. The carnage is the handiwork of the mysterious Damocles character. With all of Parques' forces eliminated, the building is now a battleground, with bullets raining down from every angle.

Selma's keen perception of the unfolding events, despite the sniper's relentless fire aimed at them, prompts her to swiftly discharge a fire extinguisher, providing them with a makeshift shelter. This affords them a momentary refuge, allowing them to regroup.

While hunkered down, Selma briefs the others on their adversaries. She reveals that these individuals are nothing but cold-blooded international mercenaries, led by the notorious Damocles, summoned by Olympus to finish the job at hand. Despite the danger, Lyna manages to sneak downstairs, cunningly concealing a pistol within the mouth of a stuffed toy dangling from the wall.

Later, on the rooftop, Lyna and Selma strategize. The former narrowly escapes a sniper's bullet, but their perseverance pays off. They unearth a potential weapon - a bomb disguised as a gas canister, waiting to be unleashed.

Orso reveals that five heavily equipped men are positioned outside, armed with night-vision goggles, tactical gear, and an array of other gadgets that make their defense, and survival, all the more challenging.

Then, a startling turn of events occurs. The cafe owner unexpectedly returns, strapped with a bomb. He rushes inside, apologizing profusely, confessing that he's only trying to safeguard his beloved family. The bomb detonates, engulfing everything in flames. Orso and Elie are caught in the crossfire. In a split-second decision, Lyna leaps onto Orso, shielding him from harm, while Elie falls victim to a bullet, struck in the chest.

The assault proceeds with relentless gunfire raining down upon the enemy. Amidst the chaos, the group manages to gain a slight advantage. They hurriedly throw a canister into the doorway and fire upon it, causing it to explode on impact, sending shards and debris flying.

However, one foe remains, determined to press forward. Orso falls victim to numerous bullets as Lyna flees the scene. The adversary, now depleted of ammunition for his minigun, switches to his pistol but moves cautiously, refusing to fire immediately, as if fate intervenes in this dire moment.

As the man continues his slow advance, he unwittingly steps into a trap, a spear piercing through his stomach, ending his threat. Meanwhile, Keita remains alive, pointing her gun directly at Lyna's face as she emerges from the smoke and dust of the gunfight.

Before Keita can pull the trigger, ending Lyna's life in a fit of rage over resisting arrest, Elie intervenes, shooting Keita in the head. When Lyna confronts Selma, she holds a gun to her face, accusing her of murdering her own mother, a revelation shared earlier by Driss before his hasty departure.

Selma stares at Lyna unwaveringly, admitting that she had considered killing her but couldn't bring herself to do it. It is revealed that Kahina had been an undercover police officer for years but didn't pull the trigger. The true culprit is Driss. He tracked down Kahina's family and brutally murdered them all, leaving a trail of blood and betrayal in his wake.
