Episode 6 of *Gachiakuta* bursts into action as the Cleaners finally discover an escape route from the treacherous building, with some of their supporters dashing off to summon reinforcements. However, Rudo, Follo, and Gris choose to remain, their resolve unyielding as they continue their search for Zanka. Just as hope flickers in their hearts, the sound of approaching footsteps echoes through the corridor. Anticipating the arrival of their ally, their spirits lift momentarily—only to be shattered by the grim reality that unfolds.
It's Jabber, the fearsome Raider, who materializes from the shadows behind where Zanka lies defeated. Rather than delivering a fatal blow, Jabber has incapacitated the Cleaner using the lethal venom coursing through his claws. Now, his sinister gaze is fixed on Rudo, with a chilling demand: he wants Rudo to speak with someone—a directive laced with menace.
As Jabber advances, Follo and Gris launch themselves at the Raider in a desperate bid to protect their friend. But Jabber, a seasoned predator, deftly sidesteps their attacks, his movements a blur of lethal grace. Undeterred, Gris steps forward, his voice ringing with unwavering loyalty. "I'll protect Rudo, no matter what," he declares, his stance resolute.
Yet, Rudo's response is a mix of desperation and defiance. "Don't!" he cries out, his voice tinged with urgency. "I'll save myself!" But fate has already written its cruel script.
In a flash of predatory speed, Jabber's claws pierce Gris's chest, leaving behind a gaping wound that spills life onto the cold floor. Rudo's world crumbles around him as he relives the trauma of his foster father's demise. The anime whisks us back to Rudo's childhood, a time when he was even more fragile, his emotions a tempest of confusion and rage.
We see Regto, Rudo's foster father, burst into the boy's room to find him violently bashing his head against the wall, his face a mask of bruises and blood. "Why are you doing this?" Regto asks, his voice laced with concern. But Rudo, lost in his own turmoil, can only shake his head, unable to articulate the rage that consumes him.
Regto, sensing the boy's inner turmoil—a mix of worthlessness and emptiness left by his parents' abandonment—decides to take action. He leads Rudo out into the city, their footsteps echoing through the slums as they embark on a journey to discover things that might bring a glimmer of happiness to the boy's otherwise bleak existence.
They attempt everything under the sun, from playing soccer to cooking, yet nothing seems to hit the mark. Just as they're on the verge of surrendering, Rudo catches sight of someone from the affluent side of town discarding their trash. As they depart, the boy dashes to the other side and retrieves a doll's head from the garbage bag. Tears well up in his eyes as he protests, insisting that it's wrong. The doll is only slightly damaged, so there's no justification for people to toss it away like that.
As his sobs grow louder, the boy declares his intention to mend it. Regto suddenly comprehends that Rudo's emotional response stems not merely from a sense of identification because he himself was abandoned. Rather, he can uncover value in anything that others deem as trash.
Flashing back to the present, Rudo activates Gris's luck amulet, transforming it into a colossal entity that envelops him. With this revelation, the supporter grasps why the boy couldn't harness his powers before. It's not that he can transform anything into a vital instrument, but rather that he can extract the utmost worth from anything he touches.
Follo endeavors to stanch Gris's bleeding while Rudo and Jabber engage in combat. No matter how fiercely the Raider attacks, he can't land a blow on Rudo. The boy elucidates that it's because Gris prayed to the amulet for a safe return, which translates to "no injuries." Hence, the object grants him the best possible defense.
Jabber acknowledges its utility but remarks that he won't be defeated if its sole power is to make Rudo elude attacks. However, Rudo informs him that he still fails to comprehend. The boy hasn't budged an inch; it's only Jabber who has been moving.
Still bewildered, the bandit launches another assault and comes to a harsh realization about the amulet's power.
With the amulet's might, Rudo halts Jabber, who begins to descend slowly. Seizing the opportunity, Rudo delivers a resounding punch to Jabber's face. As the bandit finally grasps the situation, he tries different tactics, such as creating a smokescreen. Yet, it proves futile. Even when Rudo isn't looking at him, the object still detects the attacks.
Ultimately, after being thrown around countless times, Jabber finds himself cornered, both literally and figuratively. But he hatches a new plan. He observes that whenever rocks are hurtling towards Rudo, the boy must evade them on his own. This indicates that the amulet only perceives attacks laden with malicious intent.
